  1. Your models are absolutely spectacular
  2. It’s because what should be faction rules are often tied to detachments (again, look at LAG)
  3. Except it’s also the most played because it’s the only one that actually gives the blood angels traditional red thirst anecdotal as it is, you’ve repeatedly had long time blood angels players saying they’ve used it because it’s the one that gave “the red thirst” regardless of precisely what the rules of that are. so no, I don’t buy into the idea that it’s the most used specifically because it’s the best. and even if it is the best, it still plays totally counter to its disposition given in 11th
  4. people keep asserting "x is super strong, thats why its 3dp" the ONLY way to state relative strength right now, is the 10th win rates. LAG actively works against your disposition, so there's no world where it should be 3dp but firestorm (which works toward its disposition) is 2dp
  5. Based on win rates... Blood angel win rates One of these is very much not the same...
  6. fun thing with resin is it can be subtly bent as well, which opened up some minor reposing options there
  7. a lot of khorne detachments get purge, as do a lot of orks looking at win rate stats, the most successful detachment for blood angels is currently apparently firestorm assault force, LAG sits at 44% with both AI and RCO being 50%. berzerker warband sits at a 46% win rate apparently, but DOES use purge. (apparently possessed slaughterband is where its at for Khorne atm) edit, for reference thats based on current details on stat check.
  8. i like the added detail and movement you get on the newer models, the abdomen actually getting some level of detail is nice. BUT I concur that for it to work in HH in particular, you need your line infantry kits to have minimum 10 variant poses.
  9. berzerker warband has the same detachment bonus and has the purge the foe disposition. anyway, id argue either 3dp or the disposition would be reasonable balancers against it, but not both. As stated: - take and hold wants you to sit on objectives and realistically only 2 of them most turns, central one if you can. - LAG wants you to be entering melee as often as possible (basically ALL of its strats and actual rule are specifically for getting into melee AS THE AGGRESSOR) - take & hold needs you to maintain good OC to hold the objectives - LAG wants you to go battleshocked at times to amp up your melee They just aren't a very good fit mechanically, and Take & hold seems to be at best an even matchup with the other dispositions and actually comes out much worse against purge the foe and disruption. I predict when the edition gets going properly we'll see either: - blood angels are a very early codex and its all moot as they get a bigger shakeup in terms of detachments and army rules anyway. - LAG suddenly performs terribly or just straight up isn't used in competitive stats.
  10. i think that is the idea yeah. it definitely isn’t one that plays into the detachment strengths at all, in fact I’d argue the detachment actively works against it. Take and hold is rated one of the worst dispositions by goon hammer as well (though tabletop tactics think the ork detachment that uses it is good - because you have the numbers to make it work) LAG absolutely shouldn’t be a 3DP detachment with that disposition as you simply can’t play to the detachment strengths and also play to the disposition victory conditions
  11. mechanically purge might have made sense, but the theme of Liberator Assault Group (just think about its name) is about liberating - so take and hold is thematically sound IMO, its just another reason (along with the battleshock) that it should be 2dp
  12. Again, it’s not about “a melee centred army” frankly I run a lot of regular intercessors and in days gone I used to run a lot of tacticals. It’s about having something on paper that says my army have the red thirst - it’s not about the specific effect so much as the affirmation for some of us old timers that we are actually playing a blood angel army. this is precisely why I hated the loss of it as an army rule in the first place note: I’m well aware that it comes across as silly, but that is how many people’s brains work
  13. To be fair, we also have dawn of war 4 to enjoy
  14. well.. not quite lol, as it applies to marines of any kind. Seth’s flesh tearer tactical squad and entirely legends based army list are just (dark) red ultramarines p.s. I do see the humour though, it’s why I put the laugh reaction!
