Nice blog! Loving those Night Lords. I think my favourite is that Dreadnought, but I'm a sucker for a Dreadnought, especially that lovely old pewter Chaos Dread. The plasma glow is very well accomplished. I know it's another vehicle but I'd be interested to see you tackle the old Defiler kit. It's IIRC a bit of a sod to get assembled and cleaned up (lots of mold lines) but I have a real soft spot for the ol' death crab.

I have used a few HH weapons on my Firstborn Devastator Squads and they look pretty good. I'd say go for it. No one post any more pictures of Avatars or I'll fold and end up starting another project I can't afford!

Vultarax has a 100mm for its base, that's one I know off the top of my head.

I know the Venomcrawler uses a 100mm base, absolute nightmare to get it looking interesting and not just empty flat real estate

To another 40,000 years I would say at minimum...need to make sure we are around to post our nonsense about how Rowboat isn't so great and that the Dark Angels can't handle the truth!

Well I guess that gets rid of decision paralysis at any rate. The painter in me wants the variety, but the gamer in me wants a consistent load-out across the unit to speed up the games and reduce mental load. On this point, I am becoming a little disenchanted with the prospect of “3 heavy books for one army” (I haven’t actually bought a supplement yet though) and started to look at some of @Pacific81’s suggestions on the pre-existing internet options, but they seem super-deep and detailed with hundreds of pages themselves. Anyone tried a more abstract, rules-lite system?

This is the only 40k forum that I use. While the strict moderation is sometimes annoying (come on, let us talk about The Old [REDACTED]) the general decorum and focus of this forum is unparalleled, and that is entirely due to the diligence of the mod team. Hats off to you guys!
