  1. Past hour
  2. I don't have one myself but I have friends that do!
  3. All their European orders go through Lyon now for Brexit related reasons. A 2nd ed reprint would be massive, but im pretty sure Cursed city has put paid to card heavy products, especially if Underworlds goes :(
  4. Those Boyz in mob 2 are in charge range, right? I'd hate to roll and then find I was actually out by a metre.
  5. Location: Warp Duct #01104-Ordinal-Sigma/Eight - Jump Underway PSYDUCT/Held: Carthage-Umbra Terminus, Galleo Astropathic Duct Bethor/Ferrox-990/3. Date: Damocles Orbit +3 Weeks, 3 Days. A plunge into the Warp once again sets the teeth on edge, and presses the souls deeper inside the body of the ship, in turn sequestered within walls of prayer and barely whispered fear. The silent racks of slumbering Murder Servitors stand in serried order as the Machine Priests move amongst them, once more counting, re-consecrating their purpose to the defence of this ship, their home, making sure the new Idents are exloaded to each cortex which may be deployed to a fray on board. It wouldn't do to have the new passengers sliced apart by the Mechanicum's barely-thinking killers. There was a peace in that binharic, a purpose of singular devotion to the art of death - the removal of unnecessary flesh within the organs of the ship a mere serendipitous liberation from weak shackles. In such revelation, they almost do not report the dead Rating found there, cut to ribbons. The mortal crew seem to cluster, huddled in the safe parts of the ship, the servant quarters, the galleys, the unofficially expanded bilges all hoarding contraband or visiting the ship's small chapel. The odd menial attends the medicae centre, with a burn from a welding torch, or cuts from Wardroom Steel. The mood is almost brooding, sullen. The warp oppresses all. The Captain has taken to his quarters ripe with drink, and violence has been heard from within. Armsmen, hand-picked by de Brae stand without the Captain's spacious rooms, grimly staring. Both carry power axes and bolt pistols, wrapped in the hard armour of void-soldiers. The maproom and libraries are occasioned by serfs and the smell of vellum and ancient ink. The soft rasps of huge pages announces the study underway. The Astropathic choir, and the chambers which they are ensconced are invisible without, but within the sounds of admonitions of the darkness and praise of the light, heat the hearth of the crew's hope for a safe passage. GM OOC: Basically a background post to get us moving again, but obviously to allow the Players to wander about before translation in the Demeter system. Feel free to interact or make nuisance (not too much, because you, know getting spaced is bad for the soul) or to pursue paths or interesting plots points.

  7. The Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy are supposed to evoke the feeling of a golden age (from a 41st Millennium perspective), and its tragic conclusion. The Emperor of Mankind’s armies were organised in Legions, which is of course a Roman military term. and the terms Praetor, Consul, Centurion, etc are thematically consistent with that, and as people have pointed out, they are also good umbrella terms that define a category of officer/leader within the huge diversity of the Legion ranks and structure. When you flip through the army lists and rule books and see Praetors mentioned, you instantly know what games system you’re in. I think it’s an effective way of reinforcing the theme.
  8. Your Macharius looks sweet - as do your 2 painted elesian buggies. Not sure what your intent with the faux-FW turret is, though - do you have a Russ potentially in the works, or is for an alternate load out on the Macharius?
  9. Lastalons are pretty close to the Superkrak missiles on the Desolators. Talons get an extra point of Ap, the missiles get an extra 12" range. Gravis is tougher than Tacticus but that becomes less important at longer range. Also the Desolators get the bonus indirect fire. I would rather full sized Lascannons to make up for the likely squatting of Devastators in 11th edition.
  10. That looks A LOT like UR-025's claw. Including the underslung weapon. I think you are on to something, Remain_Indoors, and I'm pretty excited about what it could be. I recall that UR-025 was disguised as an imperial robot, but I don't know what the nature of that disguise is. If he has modified his physical appearance to match a standard pattern of imperial robot, then the image could just be some (corrupted?) imperial robot. If his "disguise" consists of showing up in his original form and being all "Beep boop! I am a robot," then this image could come from a (corrupted?) Man of Iron. That is, if they are even worried about continuity with the backstop of one of the characters from a spin-off board game. Maybe I'm overthinking it.
  11. Me too, unfortunately from the list only Slaughter is available here. And it's 25% more if I buy it alone (no free postage).
  12. Wasn't there something about the Votann's Men of Iron going nuts through Vashtorr shenanigans? I think you might be onto something here.
  13. That's an interesting one. In the first case it reads (to me) like the servo-arm is being used in conjunction with the techmarine's power armour giving an augmented strength bonus like if one were tightening a bolt with a spanner, since that is what a servo-arm is in effect. In the second case, when using the servo-arm as a weapon it seems like the user is relying more upon the mechadendrite's built-in hydraulic actuators and raw, destructive crushing power of the grabber claw, and as such it's not something you can directly get your weight and personal strength behind. At least that's sort of how it looks to my eye from a mechanical perspective, assuming the designers wanted any of this remotely grounded in reality. Edit: it looks like there's an official ruling on the matter. Please disregard my rambling musings.
  14. ^ This, it bakes the Servo Arm SB of 14 into the profile.
  15. Thanks for that, missed it when reading the Supplement
  16. Servo arms do a flat 2d10+14 damage - no benefits from power armour, use strength, etc. Though the crushing blow does work.
  17. Oooh, I got my Calivers and Culverins mixed up, oh yeah that's a lot less tempting.
  18. I'm not 100% so someone may be able to correct me, but I think the 2 paragraphs relate to 2 different things. 1st para - servo-arm as a tool, use the Str Bonus if making Str related tests, etc 2nd para - as a weapon, in which case it does 2d10+14 Pen10. No extra bonus for Str, it's like NPC/Enemy weapons that already have their Str bonus included in the profile? I think...?
  19. In terms of expectations, it really depends if rumours are true and we get a true wave or if we get the other type of release and get a single HQ. If its the latter, I think Logan is fair since TDA just got remade and all that. Or they blindside us with a someone random. If we get a proper wave along the DA/BT format then I would hope for: -Logan in TDA, sans chariot for the love of god. -A support character, I would personally favor seeing a new Njal. -Wolf Guard Terminators, maybe tone down the pelts a bit but otherwise I think an upscaling of the current kit would do very well. Lots of trophies and weapon mish-mash sets. -Wolf Guard, I think the idea of extremely personalized bands of grizzled veterans is pretty central to the identity of the Wolves. Covering them in runic panels, trophies and the like would be perfect. -A generous sprue in line with the DA/BT one, although I would trade a fair bit of real estate for more head options. Russ is of course a hope but if we roll him then I would swap out Wolfguard for 13th Company Veterans, something more humanoid and 30k than Wulfen. Proper Sky Warriors returned from a more horrific Valhalla. Bjorn and a new Dread kit would be cool but its too much at odds with precedent to seem likely.
  20. Looks like an accidental carryover from the Spartan instructions.
