  2. So im in search of dice, well more specifically after the scale of the dice from the Spacehulk board game (which if anyone knows please tell me) and ive not seen a topic on them in here since i last saw the thread about the Bolter and Chainsword dice (which i need when they come up again) but in between those things im just wondering, we all share our models and such bu not our true daily hobby playing tools! whats your dice. do you have different ones for different army's too? have you gone all out on gw ones or other special customs etc? How do you feel about size/scale/weight?
  3. The story exists for sure, because I remember reading it as well. Will have a look in the collection when I get back from work. Might be in one of the anthologies.
  4. How are the horde sizes looking, have any of them been reduced to scattered stragglers by the recent frag/bolter assaults?
  5. Personally I have three different editions of Space Hulk that see almost zero play, so my only interest would be in cool unique Terminator sculpts.
  6. I’m torn on that Kasrkin. On the one hand, it would have been an opportunity to create another unique pose for the hot shot volley gun; the only way to pose it out of the normal box is at rest whilst throwing a grenade. On the other hand, if they had locked a useful sculpt to a stand alone intro game I would have complained about it to no end. Either way I may just pick this up for family game night down the line.
  7. It's going to be like a crusader/redeemer counts as I think. Not sure what the rules for it are like these days.
  8. I mean we already did it to the Iron Warriors… Also one conversion project it provides is to kitbash Suzerain style terminators with shields. I am also tempted to convert Thiel for the commander. Think a halo blade and one of the warlord traits would be a faithful representation.
  9. i would say most of the base models are legs and torso. Then you add everything else. Some HQ/heroes are more comlex with tosro and arm, or torso and leg molded unto them that needs chopping.
  10. Definitely an old-school project. The weaponry is interesting - it is going to be a custom mark, or counts-as?
  11. I don’t think we can really know what they like or dislike, but I think the supposition that they don’t want to create new miniatures for this sort of game is borne out by them not creating new miniatures for this game (or the many similar games). My own take is that they have always seemed to have two “modes” when it comes to boxed games: “basic”, where they do not create new miniatures but use what they already have, and “deluxe” which are full games with bespoke miniatures (that may/may not see individual release or be reused down the road). This distinction says nothing about the quality of the rules etc. of course, it’s just about whether they fire up the miniature design team and invest in molds specifically for the game.

  13. Round 3 Summary Cont. As Gerhardt's energized sword deflects the massive claw, it slices neatly up between two of the deadly blade ‘fingers’ and on through the hydraulics with a hiss of steam. Grubgob roars angrily and lashes out with the now powerless weapon, a glancing blow that bounces off Gerhardt's pauldron but still rocks his whole body. This monster is still dangerous. [x] Grubgob: Multiple Attacks at Gerhardt Attack 3: WS55, Roll: 42, Hit on (42=24) Left Arm Parry used. Dam: 1d10+10 Pen2 7+10 = 17 17 - TB10 - AV5(7 - Pen2) = 2 Wounds, now on 18 remaining. [ ] Omoc: ??? [ ] Moridyn: ???
  14. Of course speculation. Who can publicly admit that? When DoW 1 & 2 were at their prime popularity, GW didn't release any Blood Raven models. Angelos model was released after DoW 3(which was an unsuccessful game). iirc TW:WH also don't have any interaction with GW model release.
  15. Very nicely done! I had suspected something like this might happen when we realised the claw didn't have Power. So, what I am assuming is that because the claw is permanently attached, a part of his armour, it isn't actually lost (you didn't chop his whole arm off, after all!) So we will say you have cut through the mechanisms that power it, or maybe taken some of the blade fingers off, basically turning it into a big, useless hunk of metal. However, a big hunk of metal wielded by an angry Ork Warboss is still a pretty dangerous weapon. Therefore the profile of the claw will change from: 1d10+20 Pen8 R down to: 1d10+10 Pen2 I (It's now basically a Combat Knife with Grubgob's StrB added on top, and I instead of R) Still a threat, as it should be when you consider the size of him, but it won't be Instant Death'ing anyone (else! )
  16. Hi all I was just wondering if the option was available would you buy the Space Hulk terrain set and rule book with out the models. After all, Genestealers and Terminators are available, so you only need the terrain and rules to have the full game. Or would you prefer a full boxset release?
  17. ‘Pain Engine& is good, but it’s just a regular 40K story, not especially ‘horror’, but I guess that’s just the nature of the Drukhari
  18. I also use different rims for different types of units. Recons and the like get black (dark dull gunmetal) rim, because it doesn’t make sense for them to shine. Otherwise I mostly use the same metallic colours GW uses, but not yellowy gold, because I think it’s ugly and too kitsch.
  19. Sounds like an interesting project. The greenstuff work looks great
  20. Because these games are not straightly GW products. GW model departments dislike a customer studio who brought their IP certifications telling them what model is needed to do.
  21. That is were I am too. Spending all of my 40k time painting these days.
  22. I find it pretty funny that Legions is most likely aimed at guys in their 30s and 40s, while trolling us with the amount of absolutely tiny detail on the minis (inc. the assembly) and having to identify WYSIWYG on weapon loadouts and a 2mm weapon piece from 4ft away with our 40yr-old fading eyesight.
  23. Looks like getting to the point i may need to figure out how to make iron warrior possessed(yes its fine to use possesed but id prefer a less mutated more mechanical solution...
  24. Nowadays you can take whatever you want, up to 3 of each unit. Troops are now called battleline and you can take up to 6 of each unit. So you could take 3 ghostkeels, 3 units of stealth suits and 6 units each of fire warriors and breachers. I think my opinion on this is very much just about the models I like. Everyone is talking about the devilfish and breachers combo this edition but I don’t really like the models for the tau tanks, so that’s why I prefer the old one. At least there is no ethereal this time; I always felt that model was a bit surplus to requirements. The lore around ethereal is great, but in battle I’ve always found them a little underwhelming.
