  1. Past hour
  2. I was going to point that out with the list of "victories" as if I recall, Magnus did lay Robute low with his magic and was only saved with interference. As you say, interference with the big E himself was how he won the mortarion fight (and deal a slap to Nurgle's face with burning part of his garden)
  3. There's at least a couple of images in this book that I though were taken from Inferno, so I tried to look for the hidden tourists!
  4. I have no issue with loyalist Primarchs defeating their corrupted brothers. Chaos is ultimately a lie. Your powers are borrowed, you think it leads to freedom but it's actually eternal enslavement and your soul is forfeit. I echo the sentiment above - I don't believe that the Chaos Primarchs are necessarily more powerful in every situation, and in general their strength waxes and wanes with the warp around them. Ultimately the Chaos Primarchs are always being supported by the Chaos Gods themselves. I don't consider the loyalists being bolstered by the Emperor or some mcguffin to be any different.
  5. Actually the FOC is one element that I am glad to see the back of. I hate the notion of a Troop tax, particularly when different factions have such widely varying quality of Troops. If Troop/Battleline units are supposed to be the basic building blocks of an army then they need rules that actually make them appealing to take. Giving basic units rules like sticky ObjSec is actually one of the changes I like in 10th. Finally there is a reason to take basic infantry beyond body count and Troop tax. We all remember 8th/9th where Marines often fielded 3x5 squads of Scouts for no reason other than it was the cheapest way to meet an arbitrary restriction of them FOC. Army building in 10th may not be perfect but the FOC is one feature I am relieved to consign to history.
  6. Wait until the Thousand Sons or Space Wolves campaign book comes out and see if you can spot the modern era tourists that are pictured in Inferno. Then you'll know if anyone is paying attention. p44, if you've not seen it before. Dude casually watching on as the space wolves tear Tizca apart.
  7. I'll wrack my brain for the company, but there is a 3rd party creator that does variations of Ork Dread, Walkers, Rollers etc, which IIRC, look like what I'm hearing you're looking for
  8. We had a downtime scheduled so we could get a bit of a refresh and increase the rate of games and threat to territories (rackets) by challenges instead of accruing territories. So with a healthy 250 credits and my stash, ready for a Pitfight with some bad enemies I built and painted this dude: Jack "Bane-Hammer" He's a unit! Took out a Sumpcroc and Goliath Stimmer, took a Necrobeamer to the chops and laughed then was exhausted by a rogue Deacon who took advantage of an exhausted dude who failed his charge. 2nd place lol. But he smashed and turns out Ark Hammers are alright. Helps to have a Stim-slug stash and 1+ functional armour save eh.
  9. Good to know the Eldar god of war still managed to keep top tier glutes.
  10. I noticed that too. Most of the b&w background dioramas are taken from the old Black Books with a few exceptions. For example, almost all with WS are from Malevolence. There's a ton of recycling and filler.
  11. Perhaps they tortured a survivor of the kill-team that assaulted the Kill-Kroozer? In space nobody can hear you scream!
  12. Well, I think "Is the Dark Side stronger? No. Is quicker, easier, more seductive" is kind of the point made with the Daemon Primarchs and Chaos in general. Selling your soul is supposed to be a scam. But anyway, from the list only 3 battles are from the 40k era, and only the Lion won vs. Angron alone but with help of a mcguffin shield. Guilliman needed a lot of help to win the other 2 including a literal divine intervention after being killed for a second time.
  13. Today
  14. What I find weird (having now finished the book) is the amount of art they used of older style models. The painting examples is all the new plastic stuff, but all the black and white faded art pieces in the background is all Resin mk2, old resin Solar Auxilia, 1st edition mk3 and mk4 plastics. Feels as if they didn't have the time to redo some of those shots and just recycled old pictures/ones that didn't make the cut previously.
  15. Natorly Despite the crackles and flickers of the flames in front of her the distinctive autogun muzzle flash barely visible at the edge of her vision none the less drove her to duck behind part of the cargo hauler. Years of training in the PDF driving her body on instinct, and even then it was not enough as Natorly felt the impact on the old helmet. Head ringing she reached up, expecting to find blood, but it was all fine, just bruised. The helmet had saved here again. Eretch and Fabium Safely on the far side of the boulder from the Zelaot the two took a moment to catch their breath. From the hollow they were in they could not see much that was going on, but that should mean they were also safe from the ambushers. A comforting thought dispelled when the sword wilding menace appeared in their midst. How had they not seen her, had she sprung from the ground like a daemon? The Deacon had been right, these outsiders and heretics needed cleansing, but being alive to do so later seemed more important than martyrdom to the two. Geremia With the Emperor’s guidance he found his footing amidst the Zelaots wild swings and got back on his feet, scrambeling then running out of the hollow and away. Still mumbling the mantra “Emperor Protects, Emperor be praised.” as he does so. Holgar Oblivious to the rest of the little engagement, he was confident that with their superior numbers, training and faith that they would cleanse the enemy from their world. In the meantime he would get a head start on tracking the ambusher that had been in the trees. He would not let any of them escape. Ravia next, attacks of oportunity for Aria and Helene
  16. Update: The following pics document the state in which the built models were at the end of last Sunday (14th of April): https://ibb.co/album/f1sfQt You will notice that I overcame my dread after all and managed to build at least in component form the contemptor dreadnought although this meant not painting anything apart from applying black in a smooth fashion. It was also a bit annoying to discover the lack of space to deploy the havoc missile launcher on the top of the dread. The missile application needs to be added probably to one of the shoulders instead. And today we have Saturday the 20th of April and the birds are chirping once again. The goal for today is to build the dread and apply lots of colour to the terminators and the sarcophagus on legs. Lets see how far the work will proceed.
  17. Am not sure where to find the exact breakdown again but when people say shareholders want this and that; something like 93% of the shares are owned by less than a dozen hedgefunds/investment houses Once profits stay increasing Id say they require very little placating or interfere very little They like things in reports like new revenue stream opened up, Amazon this, licensing deal that, W+ subscribers increased, 7m visitors a month to warcom etc
  18. Spent about £800 in total over 3 printers. But given what I have printed on one thing it would have cost me over £500 from GW... about £30 total.
  19. Yeah that would be amazing. I keep looking at all the sites that do custom bits etc and would love to be able to print my own… they are cheaper now but it’s still at that price where I can’t justify buying one unfortunately.
  20. Thanks to all who run the forum and participate in B&C. I'm relatively new here and the forum has been a huge influence on my hobbying - the WIPs, the blogs, the challenges, the discussions - all have contributed to my enthusiasm, my approach to painting, all of it really. I don't have anyone bar my son (who is 9) to talk to F2F about 40k so B&C is my hobby home. Long may it remain so.
  21. I think the Tactical Squad should have an option to take whatever, it doesn't have to be in the same box. Maybe relegate some of those five heavy weapon and special weapon options to a separate upgrade frame. I believe that the basic Intercessor box should be scrapped entirely and retooled in the same way as they are doing to the Liberators in Age of Sigmar. There is a ton of now wasted space in that box with all the bolt rifle options that are completely irrelevant because of the Bolt Rifle rule consolidation. Space freed up by getting rid of all those spare Bolt rifle receivers could be used to at least include a plasma, melta and two sergeant options in this hypothetical "Tactical Intercessor" box.
  22. Edit: why am I awake at 4am? Making unintelligible responses? I meant to say it does have tracks but the original tutorial basically said score some lines into foam. I think I can take it further and use those pattern scissors the have like lines of trapezoids for the edge to try and make treads. I'm not sure the best way to go about it tbh.
  23. They are getting cheaper and cheaper now... Hell just being able to print pads when I need is super convenient , And I am not locked into 5 basic bodies for stuff like Inters.
  24. Plenty of good stuff here! Some neat paintjobs, and especially good conversions. Nice Thunder Warrior, among many other creative builds. The scratchbuilt Land Raider is off to a good start as regard proportions. Any plans for tracks?
