This seems exciting, some form of sonic terminator would be amazing, would be a shame not to reuse the CAD files... -

Ossiarch Bonereapers as Ruinstorm Daemons?
LameBeard replied to Valkyrion's topic in + AGE OF DARKNESS +
You could also go crazy on the paint scheme - maybe they aren’t made of bone? Maybe it’s spectral green or fire red as suggested above? -

Ossiarch Bonereapers as Ruinstorm Daemons?
Xenith replied to Valkyrion's topic in + AGE OF DARKNESS +
Living automata made from bone? Why not! Peronally I'd avoid the 'command' elements, like guys pointing with sticks, scrolls etc and have a bit more of a bestial, disorganised (chaotic) army. -

I've been a bit lax in keeping up with updates lately , so this one will be a bit of a catch-up. Recently finished are my two squads of striking scorpions from the Kill Team: Salvation box set: I have also made a fair bit of progress on the other half of the box set, the scouts, along with a gladiator lancer, my kit-bashed Phobos Librarian and a 3d printed Eradicator with multi-melta as this was not an option for the easy build squad I have. I have got most of the base colours down as well as the decals on, which have been sealed with some matt varnish. The Maxx Matt varnish from green stuff world is great through an airbrush, making the decals nice and flat. Next up, I liked the idea of doing a custom Tau Stealth Kill Team, so I purchased the STLs for the Ghost Shrimp models from Pipermakes which have a cool cloaking effect on some of the parts. I used translucent resin to try and give the cloaking effect a partially see trough appearance. I did a couple of tests on spare parts, with the idea being to use liquid mask to mask off these areas of the model and then just use a blue contrast paint into the bare resin with white edge highlight to achieve the effect I want on these areas. I'm quite happy with the test results, hopefully this will look good on the finished models. I also added a couple of spare plastic bits to one of the model to differentiate the leader from the rest of the squad. Alongside these I also have the contents of the Kroot hunting pack box set and a Terminator captain, assembled and primed, ready for painting joining the rest of my painting backlog .

What would actually be wild for this release is if it had a dedicated kit for Fabius Biles New Men, like a weird looking lightly armored infantry perhaps as a sort of call back to legion inductii. -

The best edition of 40K was the one that was out when I didn't have a home loan or bad knees.

Deathwatch: Murderers in Black (OOC Thread)
Lysimachus replied to Lysimachus's topic in + PBP Games +
@Mazer Rackham + @Necronaut I was thinking about the Armourbane into Melee situation, and I thought that if Azadth wants to ready and fire it, it would still take two or three seconds for the missile to travel to where Grubgob is? In that time Gerhardt could take his Turn, so if he wants to use any kind of movement action or just to duck or whatever, we can assume he is outside of the 1m Blast when the Krak explodes? Anyway, I need to rejig the map for Round 3, so it might be a while before I add the next post. -
You gotta have a good analysis of both the past and present to be able to grasp the future.

The genestealers came out really nicely - I like the patterning you added on the broodlord The Consecrators look great - there's a lot of very nicely done checkboard on the dreadnought and land raider

Boc's... not Chaos? (BG Ancient WIP)
Firedrake Cordova replied to Boc's topic in + WORKS IN PROGRESS +
The ancient's coming along nicely. Unfortunately, you can see where the repair to his robes has been done (it doesn't help that the golden/brass belt ornament is literally pointing to it ), but I assume this will get a blob of "strategic snow" to cover up the thicker paint near the hem -

Apparently, I'm Doing the Primaris Thing
Firedrake Cordova replied to Brother Christopher's topic in + WORKS IN PROGRESS +
I'm glad the videos were helpful. Getting an approach that gives you the results you want in the time you have is a great start Whilst it's nice to push your skills as it often leads to improvement, it's also worth bearing in mind that you can cause burn-out if you do this for prolonged periods. -
I love them so much you have no idea. Possible tease for some upcoming Space Sharks?

40k: Descendant Degeneration

Cornered Struggle "From these hab-block prison walls, into the lordless underhive, instead of shackles on my wrists, I carry an old rifle. The kin that once kissed me in love, are now all gone into the grinder, from this lights-on, and out and on, I'm all alone with my rifle. We are but few in numbers, aye, but still we are worth billions, in pipe-duct and in chasm we blow, both bridges and brigades. The Loyalists will all tremble, not knowing from whence, purge victims from underfloor, will sabotage and snipe them. The word revenge is worth something, when it is written out in blood, we are striking from the dark, out from sewer and holestead. No! We shall not be the last, the last of all the ratlings, brings the lumen to the dark, the ratling partisans strike. From pit of decay and dust, from cellar o'ergrown by moss, we have seen the truth so raw, with our very own eyes. We who're cornered and forsaken, they'll grind us into ration bars, not one of our kin 'ill be spared, they would have all of us snared. No! We shall not be the last, the last of all the ratlings, brings the lumen to the dark, the ratling partisans strike. Whether slave or damned tramp, scum, outcast or leper, you shall rise to fight and fall, in flames of the final revolt. For silence is nought but filth, when all of us are doomed here, we who are accursed outlaws, must sacrifice blood and soul. In red lights-on of stark terror, in lights-off of black despair, with blood an' sweat arise new race, to defy that Governor Sloann. We swear to stake his head on high, raised above the upperest spire, for if our kin cannot survive, we shall still have our vengeance. No! We shall not be the last, the last of all the ratlings, brings the lumen to the dark, the ratling partisans strike. No! We shall not be the last, the last of all the ratlings, brings the lumen to the dark, the ratling partisans strike." - Heretical abhuman guerilla song found on Thema Cibyrrhaeots, translated into Low Gothic from the local ratling tongue of Skritchvicc, sung by the rebels of warlord Bimbop Bulbafeast, the paramilitary ratling leader of a final bastion in the underhive of Hive Heraclonas, who wages a war against the sanctioned eradication of his people: The above sample of insurrectionary sinspeech was extracted from a flayed abhuman prisoner put under acidic torture by the planetary Securitate, before execution by abacination, drawing and quartering -
At the oil wash stage on Asmodai, the Ancient, and the inceptors. Going to halve the inceptors to finish half with Asmodai and the other half with the chaplain, whose crozius and bolter I still need to get some work in on. A progress pic of the Ancient, whose robe still isn't great, but, compared to this, is pristine lol
