It’s been too long

For those still following

I don’t even want to check the date on my last blog entry. I already know that it’s been far too long since I’ve posted an update. Sadly, this is also a reflection of my hobby time in general. Real-life has taken a turn, and by all accounts has taken a turn for the better, but that’s also come at a cost. I have way less free time as a result. That means less time for blog entries, 40K gaming and the B&C. Thus is life and we’ll see how long this season lasts.

But that’s not to say I’ve been completely idle so here’s what’s new:

Angels Sanguine
Army Redux

The rebuilding of my Angels Sanguine army is making progress. Here’s a new officer to ascend the ranks: Blood Angels Librarian in Terminator Armor w/Storm Shield.

I think he’s one of the best character models I’ve painted. Comments are always welcome.

Other models on the docket:

Astrorath conversion using the new Lemartes model (go figure) – mostly complete
9-man Assault squad w/o jump packs – assembled but unpainted
x2 Baal Predators – 1 is about ¾ complete, the other is currently just a flamestorm turret
Razorback – Interior mostly complete

Other units I’d really like to be painting:

x8 jumpless Death Company
x5 Sanguine Guard; just because I want to paint up the AS scheme on them.

So always more to come.

Wayward Star III

I can’t remember the last time I mentioned the campaign series I’ve run in the past concerning a hapless system in Imperial space that regularly gets ransacked by my local gaming group. In any case, I’ve been playing around with map based campaign rules for 40K for some time and this is my latest attempt.

So the map shows the area occupied by different warring factions:

Blue = Imperial
Red = Chaos
Yellow = Liberation (i.e. the Rebellion on Wayward III)
Green = Tyranid

There’s also a mercenary faction which currently consists of all Ork players which is all working out rather well.

I’ll post map updates with a few battles of note for those who like to see how the rules work themselves out on the table. For those who don’t really care for this sort of thing just focus on the pretty colors; look deeply into their memorizing patterns and think only good thoughts. Good passive, completely placated thoughts. You are getting sleepy… Sooooooo sleepy.

My thanks to those who still look forward to these updates. I will certainly try my best to keep them coming.

Till next time. Cheers, -OMG

I really, really, RE-HA-HA-HALLY like that Librarian. It's beautiful. And I would really like to see some half-gold, half-black Sanguinary Guard (I assume that's what you mean). Just one question: the fact that the librarian doesn't have a helmet. I'm also assuming that this is just because the model is too nice to mess up by trying to convert a helmet on.

Also digging the campaign map. I love doing stuff like that (currently playing in a league myself).

Thanks for the comments. I started my AS army long before that, "man behind the iron mask" fluff came out. (Well you can debate me there but I could debate you right back.) In the end, I decided not to worry so much about the helmented only bit. So yes, I like a mix of marines with and w/o helmets and yes, I didn't way to try to add a helmeted head to this model.

Likewise, official fluff indicates that all DC & SG units should follow the BA pattern with rare exception. I guess I'm just going to have to ignore that bit as well.

Cheers, -OMG

Did you do the blood-drop with wings on the shield that the Librarian is holding?

Some WIP pics of it would be nice. biggrin.gif

Edit: Just noticed that the shield is from Gideon in the Space Hulk box, am I right?
