Don't worry I'm currently working on something massive in terms of truescaling at the moment, but more on that later. :angry: Update time Been extremely busy of late so haven't really had any time for much but I have squeezed in some work on my 25th anniversary captain that will now be taking his place as Captain for this lot with any luck. I've removed the plasma pistol and am currently working on the old school weapon to make it a little more like the original artwork. I've still got to redo the nozzle of the weapon as it's sorted of went a bit rubbish but that will be easy enough to rework. I also want to add a proper Mk VI corvus pack as well. The head of this guy is a heavily reworked LotR Boromir model (think that's his name? Not too sure about LotR stuff.), I've cut the hair off, reworked the back of the head and made him generally more marine like head. As the newer green I was using wasn't too popular I'll go back to the original version I was doing. How many people can say they have Sean Bean leading their marines? :cuss batu: I sculpted the general shape that I wanted for the hair then used a blade to make fine lines for the hair. :) Quick update Just a little bit of an update. Marius Perdo Posted March 3, 2012 Share Posted March 3, 2012 Doghouse, I am very impressed with the effect that cutting/drilling off the heads of BfM minis and replacing them with MKIV resin ones has had. I assume they are FW RS ones given the age of the earlier posts. I have loads lying about myself given I use the newer complete MKIV FW resin suit kits these days. I had dug out lots of my old unpainted SM minis from BfM/AoBR for my failed KG 25 side project but seeing what you have done with these means I realise they can still be used and look great, especially with the left shoulder pad swap. If you don't mind I might convert one in a similar style for each tactical/devastator squad in my battle company to free up some marine parts to use for other planned projects, which delusionally include a Space Wolf and Flesh Tearers army. There are numerous things that you can do with them and it's pretty easy to quickly assemble a force with them. Brother dean: The problem I was having with it was the nozzle wasn't turning out quite how I wanted it which was proving to be a little frustrating. In the end I just slapped the plasma pistol on the end and blended it in. Imagine how much better Dawn of War 2 would have been if the Blood Ravens had broad Sheffield accents? This looks great mate, if the actual GW model was like this I would have bought one. I decided to push on because I'm really hoping for a grudge match against my mate El Diablo's Minotaurs at some point. Dean: ;) Just a quick update. Having doubts about the head at the moment but I reckon I can pull it back, if not I still have a sergeant chronus head that would work well. Still blocking out the colours and have started to highlight the torso a bit. Once the armour is fully blocked out and highlighted I'll start the shading and weathering.
