This has inspired me to add to my beloved 1k sons (Ahriman is getting lonely being the onely hq choice :(). The marines with special weapons are paticularly epic. Really good job :). Good luck with the 1k Sons (though you might already be done with them at the rate I post... :P). @Lord Arkhand - Realize I'm a bit late, but it's Tamiya Clear Red mixed with GW Black Ink - idea shamelessly stolen from L0new0lf. Couldn't tell you the exact ratio as I've been mixing them on the models, I'd estimate something like 50/50. Pics! Nothing new for those who followed the MiniCall, just figured I should post them here. II Coterie, Phael Raum Lord-Captain of the II Cohort, Quor Abalam Second Hell Blade Fighter, codename "SHAROOOOON" All together now: Had a fantastic time in the MiniCall and am waiting anxiously for Call of Chaos mkIV. Meanwhile, got yet another block of ten cultists to do, with the robed FW Nurgle Preacher as an Overseer. Also, for those who've read Dark Apostle, I nabbed some Drone Remote models from the game Infinity, and I'm thinking of converting them into Discords. :D Sculpting will commence shortly, pics soonish. Cult mob 3 assembled: Something maybe a tad more interesting for fellow Dark Apostle fans, my Infinity Drone Remotes Discords are assembled. Now for sculpting/converting, but I'm debating whether to use chopped-up Dirge Casters or sculpt up my own warp amps of doom. Description in Apostle was a bit vague (tentacles, grilled speaker, that's about it) and I don't recall them being in Disciple at all, considering waiting to see if Dark Creed describes them any more before starting anything up - but then, January is a long way away. Biohazard Posted October 15, 2009 Share Posted October 15, 2009 If i was you would sculpt my own warp amps, these look pretty close to how i pictured them while reading Apostle, not long started on Disciple and loving it. Given your skills, i'd say you should try to run with the make your own route, as i think you could pull it off really well (may even save on materials if you don't need to hack and slash various existing GW minis, especially pewter ones). D: Been busy with school and then holidays, but now I've got the better part of a month of free time ahead of me so I'm hoping to get some work done. First, to the 2.5 month-old comments, thanks a bunch guys. TAS, you've probably already gone back and read it, but for anyone else who's wondering what Discords are, they were basically floating tentacled daemon-engine amps that would blare daemonic cacaphonies that if you listened to enough you'd start hearing voices telling you to kill your buddies, and then eventually go insane and turn to Chaos. The Word Bearers used them to keep their slaves in line, though I imagine they could also potentially use them as weapons. So, pics. The Cultists have been done for a few weeks (please pardon the following photography): And the whole horde so far: I've done absolutely nothing with the Discords. I've got 12 Raptors and 6 missile Havocs ready for painting, but I forgot to take pics before priming them (d'oh). I've done little else except some non-PA stuff. Though speaking of non-PA, BOO! This jolly fellow is a Greater Plague Demon from a lovely company called Ultraforge. It's currently out of production, but eBay Christmas was good to me. "But Raz, you don't do daemons", I hear you cry. "O RLY?" I coyly respond. I decided to start a daemon army after experiencing the shocking revelation that I already had one. Back when we all heard about the Daemon codex I nabbed one squad each of the old models 'cause I figured the new ones couldn't possibly live up to the old ones. I primed them all, got ready to paint them, started on some, then stripped them all and sat them on my desk where they got buried under a monolith of sprue and bitz. For the most part, I wound up not liking the new daemons, but I did like the new Bloodletters enough, so I got some (the Juggernauts are great too). But they, of course, also got buried. And so the daemons were forgotten, until recently when I dug them back out. And I was all like "holy crap, I've almost got a playable daemon army" so I nabbed more Bloodletters and the Ultraforge demon. I don't really intend on using this as its own army, since I never liked the idea of daemons being their own codex. Instead I intend to use them alongside my Word Bearers in Apocalypse. I can still use my cultist mobs since Summoned Lesser Daemons are their own thing. I can also use the daemons with the old codex since my local group's cool enough to let me use it. The Bloodletters up there just have one coat of Mechrite on them - these daemons aren't exactly on the top of my to-do list, so with my painting rate don't expect them to be done any time soon. Not pictured above are 7 more Horrors and 9 Flamers kindly donated to The Cause by a guy at the LGS. Furthermore, I should be acquiring a little something extra very, very soon. Expect pics, or don't. So now I have a whole bunch more crap that'll never get painted. <_< Also, Dark Creed is out, and we're getting a Heresy book next year. Rejoice, my brethren! All this work is so amazing that I want to break my paintbrushes, bin the paints and throw my mini's at the nearest wall. Very, very hard. Then maybe, just maybe, having appeased the Chaos Masters, I might be able to do something even a quarter as good as these boys.
