Indeed it was humour ...

You're a funny man... *steely eye stare*

:D

however over 10,000 images are generated per week using the painter ... over half a million a year!

See - it phrases like this that makes me worry. If there is even a slight possibility of a problem we should come up with a future solution now - perhaps the mod the new generator so that it produce images that can only be downloaded and then the member uploads them to their photobucket account for posting. The old generator can still run, and all the images that use it still maintained - but new stuff would all be download only.

?

Philip

They already switched to a jpg system a short while back (which cut bandwidth demands down significantly). Still the Chaos, Terminator and SoB painters need switched to that system too.

The amusing thing about your idea Phil is that most people would just host said images in their B+C albums. :)

List wise, I have a one but it is bloated with more than a thousand chapters, I can and I will produce a list for you phil...does it need to be in the same order as they appear in the images or would you like it alphabetised... or should I do some kind of spread sheet or database with all relevant data inc the chapter creater?

Your a funny guy Argos :cuss ;) ;)

I'm hoping to see updates to the existing images before too much work goes into making each Marine scheme bring up info. Ie so it doesn't get to the point where it would be too much work to update the existing images.

Thats why its taking so long Heru, I'm redoing alot of mine or removing them altogether, and Ive got Cam redoing alot of his. That way any updaes will be part of an entirely new group, and hopefully easier for phil to add.

And I use print screen and save it on MS paint.

Their colours are black, red, white and Gold.

That doesnt really help, be more specific.

Their Chapter symbol is that of the Blood Angels, turned upside-down, but with the blood drop replaced with a tear.

<_< So it looks like a blood drop then?

Except it's not red it's white or gold. But basically yes. I also have lots of Ashanti/Ghana derived symbols for the various unit types which are super kick-ass. Especially the one that means "that which cannot be burned" and "Do not point at the ruin of your father's house with your left hand"

Power armour is mostly black, red knee guards and trim, and white helmets with varying war paint/designs on them. Gold is used for weapons, trophies and other decoratey bits.

Hopefully that's a bit clearer than my last post.

Nice logo, Solid Great Tesselation!!

The colours and design of you marine is EXTREMELY like mine (my helmets are white) down to the gold trim and red stripe down the centre of the Corvus beak. Therefore I think it's the best one ever :P).

How did you do that? Is there a programme that let's you create a colour scheme on a Mk 6 suit? I need this!!

For now I would like the text list with the names in the same order as they appear in the galleries if possible?

I actually meant the stuff that's already on Phil's page. I already know that you update your images as well as creating new ones.

  • 4 weeks later...

Updated to Dazzo's new galleries (now 720!). All pages are now have linked marines, the link are either to the chapters IA or a request page for more information.

I have started up a new thread to collect up links to DIY Chapters: = Request for links to your DIY Chapters =

This quote is from this thread: = Request for links to your DIY Chapters = (move here to keep the other thread nice and tidy)

Out of interest Philip S, why do you need the IAs? :)

I need the IAs so I can link to them from the Visual Index. As to why I want to do that; The plan is to have 1,000 chapters, you can quickly browse through them all in the Visual Index, and if you see one you like you can click on the marine image and read up about it. Both official and DIY chapters are included, and I pick the best resource available for official chapters and for DIY the creators IA page (often a thread on this forum).

I figure it's a good way to look up chapters, and it may also give many fans a reason to make a DIY chapter using B+C tools (Space Marine Painter) and maybe funnel some traffic from fans not on B+C to chapters there are being built up.

A sort of 'Fan Chapter Resource Hub'. A place where you can always find out about chapters (and it's updated if better resources come along, or old resources are deleted)

As to why do this? I suppose it seems like a good idea at the time, a 'proof of concept' so to speak. GW should have something like this for the official chapters, but I doubt they could do it for DIY chapters as they have no control.

I'm liking the latest list :P Quite a few ones of mine I can spot :) And I'm liking the extra touches Dazzo put on some of them - nice one Dazzo :)

May I make a suggestion? Is it possible to make it so the expanded image gallery is stationary rather than jumping down the page everytime I've scrolled down the page and move to the next lot.

I'm not sure what you mean?

The popup centres to the view... it should stay there once it's popped up?

No i mean like, umm...

Well it stays center view right? So i'd rather it didn't bounce it's way down my page every time i scrolled down and then moved to the next set of images. Maybe a limit on how far you can scroll down the page when the fullsize images are shown onscreen

I can not replicate this error.

On Firefox and IE it stays where it pops up, fixed to the page, so when you scroll the page and popup scroll as one.

What browser are you using?

EDIT: Okay. A demo.

http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg17/Hubernator/ss1.jpg

Here's what the page opens as (which is nice by the way )

http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg17/Hubernator/ss2.jpg

Now this is when I've clicked the first image. Notice how it's at the top of the page in the background.

http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg17/Hubernator/ss3.jpg

Now I've scrolled down the page. The background has moved as well.

http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg17/Hubernator/ss4.jpg

Now I've moved onto the next image. The gallery has centered itself but the page hasn't gone back to the top >.>

I dunno maybe I'm being fussy :P
