Addendum 1: Generic Combat Instructions

Preface Given that this character anticipates being superior at range to most foes, the instructions and combat philosophy have been designed with this in mind.

Moving - Von Orlock always attempts to retreat if able unless this will leave his foe beyond his 36" effective psycannoning range.

Shooting - Von Orlock always shoots his pyscannon if able at his designated foe.

Psyker Powers - Von Orlocks Rod proscribes these.

Charging/Assault - Von Orlock does not intend to engage in melee volentarily

Voluntary Fallback - Von Orlock always attempts to retreat if able

I haven't got a camera handy to take a photo, but i will upload one when i do. Until then...

Grey Knights Grand Master 145pts.

That's me done :P

Moving If the enemy is intent on reaching close combat, move backwards, as long as this does not take Grand Master Brovius outside storm bolter range. If the enemy is intent on moving backwards and shooting, Brovius will move forward as much as possible.

Shooting Grand Master Brovius will always fire his storm bolter at the foe, and will always attempt to stay within storm bolter range. If the enemy's weapon has an AP of 1 or 2, GM Brovius will run in the shooting phase. If the armour save of the enemy is 3+ or lower, GM Brovius will fire his storm bolter in the shooting phase. Note that if the enemy has both a 2+ save and an AP 1 or 2 weapon, GM Brovius will always run towards the foe. If he is within charging range by the end of the movement phase, he will always fire his storm bolter

Psychic Powers Grand Master Brovius will always attempt to use his force weapon when he causes an unsaved wound on the enemy. Use The Aegis rules to attempt to nullify all Psychic Powers used against him.

Charging/Assault Grand Master Brovius will make all attempts to charge the enemy, should they get close enough to do so. It's better he gains the charge bonus than the enemy. On the charge, only parry once. When the enemy is stunned (via Force Weapon) do not parry at all. In any other situation where it would be beneficial, parry twice.

Voluntary Fallback It is an action for cowards, the Emperor will see the Grey Knights to victory!

That's basically it :cuss

Will have a picture up when i can

Inquisitor Lord Darius

gallery_29546_2076_39125.jpg

Wargear; Artificer Armor, Icon of the Just, Power Weapon, Digital Weapons, Sacred Incense, Consecrated Scrolls, Scourging. (enough apples for ya?) 145pts on the dot!

Preface= Darius wants confirmed kills, and that can't be done in a ranged bout. When his enemy's head is on a spit roasting over their burning heretical works is when he is satisfied. :)

Moving - [Darius likes to be up close and personal. If they fall back he advances to get to grips with his foe. He is not above running to get up close.]

Shooting - [Darius has no ranged weapons.]

Psyker Powers - [blast the enemy to bits with thy mind! In the first round Darius like to blitz his opponent. Hammering his enemies with a double dose of Scourging (Via his consecrated scrolls) .]

Charging/Assault - [if possible Darius will charge in. Using his combination of wargear to the best(digital weapons, incense, and all.)]

Voluntary Fallback - [An inquisitor is no fool, especially one who has become a Lord among them. If reduced to his last wound Darius will try to break away from combat. "If you live you win, if you die you lose."]

Character Name - Bob the Piratical Preacher - He must be a pirate, he's wearing an eye patch.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qiQAtQLFJ6c/THOQe7l_18I/AAAAAAAAAbk/9hJMXGSX1yc/s320/P1010491.JPG

You can find more images of Bob the Piratical Preacher HERE.

Codex - Witch Hunters

Unit Entry - Priest - For the lols

Equipment - To be edited to resolve no duplicate Master Craftings.

Laspistol - Because he comes with it.

Plasmagun - Because it's funny to give him a gun that can also hurt himself.

Master Crafted Power Weapon - Who says no to a Power Sword?!.

Power Armour - Because it's the best armour he can buy.

Rosarius - Because it might give him a fighting chance.

Bionics - For the lols.

Purity Seals - Because I had twenty points left over and no other items that I could buy from the armoury except for grenades.

Total 130 Points Most expensive Priest ever used!

Abilities

Fanatical - In the turn that the Priest charges, he may re-roll any failed rolls to hit.

Righteous Fury - If there is an enemy within 6" during the assault phase, he must charge it if able. He always counts as moving whether he does so or not.

Instructions

Moving - Unless the enemy has a ranged attack of more than 12" he won't move unless it's to bring his Plasmagun just within 12". If closer than his minimum range, he will move back hi 2" to keep the range open for as long as possible.

Shooting - He'll fire his Plasmagun when able. If within assault distance, he will fire his Laspistol instead.

Psyker Powers - Bob the Piratical Preacher has no uses for silly mind powers!

Charging/Assault - He will make two attacks each turn, and use his remaining attacks to parry.

Voluntary Fallback - If going second, he will always try to fall back out of combat so that he can charge in again the following turn (with I3, he should be going second most of the time).

I'm aiming for the wooden spoon award here ladies and gents. If he actually beats anyone it'll be epic!

Vorian, Grey Knight Grand Master

Moving - Always move towards the enemy

Shooting - Depends of the enemy. High AP (1 or 2) weapons he'll run towards them. Low AP weapons he'll move and shoot. For low armour saved foes (ones his stormbolter will cut through) he'll always shoot as well. Obviously he'll shoot rather than run if he's in charge range already.

Psyker Powers - Force weapon whenever he may

Charging/Assault - He'll try to get into combat ASAP.

Voluntary Fallback - Unless the situation necessitates it, or it's the only way to save him from sure death, he'll not fall back,

Forget the wooden spoon - you get the Iron Coconuts Honour ;)

We'll be sure to incorporate "Arrrr!" into each of his batreps.

Champion of the Miles Cerulean, Brother Captain Ronius has taken the personal charter of thwarting the efforts of Tzeentch at every opportunity. Ronius' brother knights use a distinctive gun-metal blue polish on their armor as part of a tradition whose origins are shrouded in the mists of time.

gallery_26137_3833_53139.jpg

Armed with his faithful nemesis force weapon, Ronius also carries an ancient storm shield (4++ invul in CC, +1A) and wears a psychic hood. The ancient storm shield has been imbued with the purity of his order and so counts as a Holy Relic (+1A once per game).

Total: 141 pts

Moving - Ronius will always attempt to move within 18" of his foe. Should his enemy be armed with a storm shield, Ronius will attempt to stay at 18" away. Otherwise, he will move towards the enemy.

Shooting - Ronius will attempt to use Scourge as a psychic shooting power

Psyker Powers - Ronius will attempt to use Scourge as a psychic shooting power

Charging/Assault - Ronius will not parry

Voluntary Fallback - Ronius will never voluntarily fallback

Master Crafted Plasmagun - Because it's funny to give him a gun that can also hurt himself.

Master Crafted Power Weapon - Because I can.

Good Gravey! Someone whom might actually be von Orlock's ranged combat rival. I was fairly certain that all armoury widgets were considered unique so far as any one character was concerned and that 'master crafting' was an armoury selection. In effect, you can't have two master crafted weapons on one model, a lone figure just can't handle that much awesomeness.
... Ronius also carries an ancient storm shield (4++ invul in CC, +1A) ...
I wouldn't cite the +1 attack for your shield here, unless you've vetted it with the event organisers that they'll accept that pained interpretation. The historical stance is that the shield is not a weapon, it only takes the space of one for equipment selection. A more modern one suggests that it might be, but then it is a 'special weapon' and can't be used at the same time as the perhaps more useful NFW. I guess we'll find out.

Count me in please!

Witch Hunter Inquisitor Lord Reinhardt von Brandt. (Edited due to my lack of reading comprehension.)

http://www.flickr.com/photos/52306995@N08/4880372443/

Inquisitor Reinhardt has dedicated his service to eliminating psykers, wherever they may be found. Clad in power armor and carrying both a Stake Crossbow and Power Weapon, he is known to take the fight to the enemy.

Inq. Lord:

Mastercrafted Bolter/Stake X-bow

w/ Psycannon Bolts

Power Weapon

Digital Weapons

Bionics

Hexagramatic Wards

Psychic Hood

Word of the Emperor

Total: 145 pts.

Moving: In most cases, Reinhardt tries to move within 12\" to Rapid Fire with the bolter, or against psykers to fire the X-bow.

Shooting: Against psykers, Reinhardt always attempts to fire his X-bow. Otherwise, he fires the bolter, at Rapid Fire range if possible, using psycannon bolts to deny invulnerability saves.

Psyker Powers: Against close-combat oriented enemies, Reinhardt attempts to use Word of the Emperor to prevent enemy assault. He uses Hexagrammatic Wards and a Psychic Hood to defend against psykers.

Charging/Assault: If shooting is ineffective, Reinhardt closes to attack with his Power Weapon/Digital Weapons. Against psykers, he always attempts to hit with the X-bow before entering close combat.

Voluntary Fallback: If clearly outmatched against close-combat oriented enemies, Reinhardt will attempt to fall back, use Word of the Emperor to prevent enemy assault, and keep firing his bolter.

I'm checking on the official ruling on the storm shield as well as the two master craftings :) I'll post an answer once it arrives.

Yeah I wasn't quite sure of that one since it's never come up for me before. It depends on how you view master crafting as whether two different master crafted weapons count as doubling up master crafting or whether they count as two different items.

I'm content either way, this is just for the lols after all.

I'm pretty sure in previous AoDs Inquisitor Lords were allowed to ignore the rule requiring 3 henchmen (since otherwise Inquisitor Lords would be unplayable in AoD)

I don't think there is anything "official" about it. FWIW, IMHO, the storm shield was never intended to grant an extra attack. Remember when this codex was written -- before 4th edition, even -- and how the armoury is worded. The storm shield "counts as" a single-handed weapon for armoury purposes only. It tells you how many hand-slots the thing takes up on your model.

@6, I hear you, there's definitely some weird interactions with a 3rd edition book and 5th ed rules. Either way I just like the model with the shield so I'll run him like that regardless of what Inquisitor NP comes back with.

Yes, the outdated nature of the Inquisition codices puts them at a disadvantage. Let's hope that GW updates these armies to give them some parity with everyone else soon.

Master crafting may only be purchased once, so only one weapon may be master crafted.

DCAs and Assassins aren't allowed because they're way too powerful. I know that some of the wargear in the Inquisition codices isn't on par with the counterparts in the other codices (e.g., storm shields, but changing those things might be too derivative).

The requirement for Inquisitor Lords to take henchmen/retinues is waived.

Yes, lots of BA Librarians may have been entered, but only one will make it to the B&C-wide AoD. Remember, only one combatant from each forum is going to progress that far. Now if the Champions of all of the forums (except BTs :) ) end up being Librarians, then there might be room for concern, but I think there's plenty of room for other character types to do well.

I'm surprised that no one brought up the nun with the hairdryer of doom yet.

The answers to all your questions provided, let it not be said that the Inquisition fails to deliver! We just may not deliver the thing you expect when the call for aid goes out.. bwahahaha.. :)

So to summarize Brother Tyler again just in case anyone is confused:

Storm Shields do NOT provide an extra attack.

Master Crafting may only be taken once.

Inquisitor Lords do NOT have to take a Retinue.

No Temple Assassins or DCA's for balance purposes.

I can just see it now.

Vindicare assassin enters the competion though no one has seen him.

There was just a note on an arrow that sliced the bread of the servant taking up the entries.....

In all matchups so far, he has won, although he was never seen. The enemy just dropped dead with a small hole in their foreheads.

Calidus assassin enters the competition, she was the servent, the real one was found dead in a dumpster downtown.

After any matchups she appeared M.I.A. several times but turned out to be the one left standing, just polimorfed.

Culexus assassin did not enter the competition, every servent ran away screaming abomination when he tried to enter... :D

Eversor assassin was banned from the competiotion for murdering 15 civil servents while trying to sign up. Subsequent attempts to ban him have been less then succesfull ....

Yeah, I responded to your MC question in the other thread. ;)

Joke entries aside, a DCA would be even worse as one, as you can't buy them any wargear. I suppose if you didn't want to make a serious entry, and had a nicely painted DCA you would like to show off, you could enter one 'for the lulz', but I think even Bob the Pirate would be able to MC Plasma Gun one to Death! :D
