Finally got more painting done, falling a bit behind if I want to get my LPC vow done! I got the last 5 of my Tactical squad done, so just 5 more Tacticals and a Captain left by the end of the month!

I messed up one of the eyes on the one kneeling too many times, so gave him a black eye to cover it up.. maybe he fell on his binoculars.

My progress for my LPC vow, the last 6 are in a sloppy basecoat stage. Hoping to have them done by the end of the weekend or around there!

Also changed the equipment on 2 of my Command Squad, dropped the Flamer and upgraded the fist to a Thunder Hammer. Had to repair the piece I got off a friend with some green stuff.

And put together a Venerable Dreadnought with 2 FW autocannons because I think it looks really cool!

Ah, Mortis dreddys... such a cool model it's a shame DA's have the rights to them. Nevermind... I'll take an Achilles LR instead!

It's looking great so far... and orange. VERY orange. They look like they've been tango'd! :P

Olisredan: Thanks! Mortis dreads do look the coolest

Vulkan454: Glad you like the black eye, was the best I could do to cover up my error. I'm ok with doing one eye, but once it comes to 2 I can never make them match up and looking in the same direction!

PorridgeMeister: Thanks. Just need an Ironclad dread and I got one of each type, I do love dreads!

Annoying setback, the new Gryphonne Sepia I bought was from a bad batch. I didn't notice until I had washed all the marines I was working on with it and saw they were very different from the others I had done. I did call GW and they are sending a replacement, but to finish my LPC vow I guess I need to go buy one tomorrow and quickly finish up!

Finished my 5man tactical squad and my captain, so my LPC vow is complete!

Time to take a break from painting marines and get some vehicles done! Next goal, 1000 point army painted!

Thanks was getting worried I wouldn't finish in time. The transfers are from Armorcast, the black Griffon Rampant. Pretty happy with them though they are a bit more fragile than the GW transfers. Edited by Zujara

They look really effective so you should be happy :D

Really sorry for the threadomancry but I had to ask - how did you do the powersword on your commander? It looks superb and yet very different to the other lightning style power weapons I've seen.

No worries I was actually just getting back into the hobby after a break so updates will be resuming! I start by painting the weapon Orkhide Shade, then doing a thick line in the rough shape of a lightning bolt in Snot Green, paint a thinner line inside the Snot Green with Goblin Green, then an even thinner line inside the Goblin Green with Scorpion Green. With a 1:1 mix of Scorpion Green and Sunburst Yellow, I paint a very thin line in the bends of the lightning, and where the lightning meets the weapon then add a small speck of skill white in those same areas.

When I get the time, I could do a step by step since I will need to do more power weapons anyways!

Did a bit of assembling to get back into the army, did 5 scouts with shotguns, Sergeant has a combi-melta and melta bombs. Also worked on a Land Speeder Storm
