Soooo, I feel a little special right now......I was looking back through the pages to find my post to declare my completion, only to discover my vow nowhere to be found....Ive no idea what happened? Time out error? Flood control? Anyhoo that doesn't change the fact that I've used up that model so I'm gunna have to post a cop-out,

Despite some serious W.A.R.P storms, which hopefully have subsided for now, I still endeavor to complete this month's challenge. In the short amount of time I have left, I Vow to complete one Company Master with Power Weapon and Combi-Plasma totaling 125 pts by November's end.

HOW TO WIN EXTRA WHITE PEARLS

We have now reached the halfway mark. I have never been so proud to be part of this forum seeing the kind of commitment and quality of painting displayed.

From now on it is truly a test of will to see how many will keep faith in the lion and continue their Path to redemption until the end. Of the 82 brave battle brothers began the walk three months, 64 made oaths in the second month and 55 made vows in the third. A number of unforgiven brothers who were unable to keep their oaths returned to the path and took it upon themselves to redeem their failures by undertaking special tasks and completing their previously failed journeys.

How can we get as many of the participants through as possible? Until now those who failed their oath were afforded the opportunity to complete them and be awarded the pearl in a retrograde fashion provided they completed a special task specified to them. Those who found the Path to Redemption after the September commencement date also have such an opportunity to back-fill their oaths and hence be eligible to receive the Black Pearl at the end of February 2013.

As we move in to the second half of the event more opportunities abound, all with the intention of bringing as many battle Brothers as possible through the accumulation of Six White Pearls to the end of the journey when they will be awarded the much coveted Black Pearl.

To be able to sustain such an effort for a six month period is an exceptional effort. So we must be careful not to detract from the brilliant effort of those who have continued along this path for the full six months. However we also must bring those who stumbled and those who came later along with us. We never leave our battle brothers behind.

With this dilemma to balance the following options are open to everyone from the December oaths until the closure of the event, to earn extra white pearls which can be used to back fill any empty slots you may have in your banner.

COMPLETE ALL OATHS & A SPECIAL TASK:
Complete an additional oath for each of your empty monthly slots in the standard fashion (DA Codex/FW legal units) and when complete you will be given a specific special task to complete in order to ratify those as being accepted.
Award: You will be awarded a single white pearl for each of your monthly oaths once the special task in completed.

COMPLETE TEN ADDITIONAL OATHS:
This option recognizes the efforts of some of our battle brothers who have completed oath after oath within each month for no particular reward other than their love of our legion.
Award: If you have completed a total of ten additional oath during the whole duration of the event (The initial oath for each month does not count) then you are eligible to be awarded a SINGLE White Pearl to be used to fill up any slot in your banner, past or future.
Example: If you had vowed 3 additional vows in after completing your September oath and did so again in October and December and then in January made a single additional vow, you will receive one white pearl each for the months of September through January for a total of five white pearls. You will also in addition receive a sixth white pearl as you had made a total of 10 additional vows leaving you free in February.

CHAPTER FLEET ASSETS: (Battle Fleet Gothic):
This is an incentive to those admirals who wish to participate in this event. You may make an oath of any BFG legal Dark Angel fleet assets as a normal oath.
Award: If you complete a sum total of 1000 points worth of Fleet Assets (BFG) during the duration of the event, then you will be eligible for an additional White Pearl.
Example: If you pledge a Battlebarge for December and a Battlebarge and Strike Cruiser for January, you will received one white pearl each for the months of December and January and a third white pearl for reaching 1000 points.

STRATEGIC WARFARE: (EPIC Armageddon) :
This is an incentive to those Lord Commander with the love of Strategic Warfare who wish to participate in this event. You may make an oath of any EPIC Armageddon legal Dark Angel units/assets as a normal oath.
Award: If you complete a sum total of 1000 points worth of Strategic Units (EPIC Armageddon) during the duration of the event, then you will be eligible for an additional White Pearl.
Example: If you pledge a command detachment for December up to 500 points with transports and attachments and a tactical detachment and a terminator detachment for January, you will received one white pearl each for the months of December and January and a third white pearl for reaching 1000 points.

THE GREAT CRUSADE (FW Betrayal Crusade Army List):
This is your chance to delve in to the realms of the 30th millennium and the Dark Angels Legion. You may make an oath consisting of any legal unit in the Space Marine Legion Crusade Army List described in FW’s Betrayal Book. Models must be painted in legion colours and period equipment.
Award: Recognizing the cost and accessibility of FW’s heresy Era models, this will reward the participant with an additional White Pearl for every full strength squad, squadron or single vehicle completed in legion colours and period wargear. This will be in addition to the white pearl received for the month for completing the same squad. A maximum of three additional white pearls may be earned in this manner all of which can be awarded in the same month or in different months depending on when the participant completed them.
Example: If you complete a 10 man assault squad in December using FW miniatures and a 5 man Cataphract Terminator Squad also in December, both in legion colours and markings you will receive one white pearl for the December oath of two units but also receive two white pearls one for each HH era unit. If you do the same in January you will receive another white pearl for January but only one more white pearl for completing a HH era unit as you can only ever earn a maximum of three additional white pearls in this manner.

For the month of November, I vow to complete one Dreadnought with assault cannon and power fist/heavy flamer, totalling 130 points.

I'm very happy to see some love for the First Legion there! Although now I'm tempted to make my own fleet too! :(

Thank you, thank you, SG. I'm feeling motivated to paint but with the end of the month bearing down and progress still slow on October's oath the scale of the task was off-putting. The alternative means to earn partial redemption and secure the missing white pearl at a later date is a real boost in an otherwise blue week.

Oh I see now. I have to make a vow for the September month even tho I came in during October, AND do a special assignment to get the September pearl?

 

For my November vow I'm almost done! Still have the 8 bikes to do... And it's crunch time. Friday I wouldn't be able to do any work so I'm going to have to do two bikes a day just to finish. Time to hunker down and replicate our chapters stalwart resolve to continue on no matter the odds!

I'm sure you'll make it if you set your mind to it. we've split the atom, so why not split the second and make it a minute!! :huh: On the otherhand I would love to see some EPIC stuff being painted up in this event.

Well done on the completion of October's oath. The latter images look excellent. I didn't think anyone could make purple work without worshipping Slaanesh but you have! ;) You special task has been PMed to you!!

actual did a bit of work on this - nothing major but got some base colours down - need to find my notes for colours before i can paint up to a more detailed level.

 

trying out green claws for my AoV/Belial to make him a bit different. not sure at the moment. Pics when i can.

 

if i can find out the epic stuff i'l see what i can do - will need to download the rules etc again to get the points. despite owning EPIC stuff for about 7+ years i dont think i ever got around to painting anything or playing a single game! criminal!
