I, Slyfox.uk vow to finish painting a 10 man tactical squad with bolters, plasma cannon and plasma gun (195points) and fully paint a Librarian in power armour (120points) for the Month of December.

Welcome to the Path, SLyfox.uk! You will not regret your decision to walk alongside some true veterans of thsi forum

More welcome to the returning heroes Brother Moridius, Alys Dwr and Izzuan

For my December vow, i shall finish one Predator tank with autocannon turret and heavy bolter sponsons for 95pts. If i can find the pintle storm bolter by the end of the month, would that count as a second vow? ;)

Al

Nice try, No it doesn't but it does count towards a free trip to Chamber 42 and the Chaplain's Crozius... :P

OliveRaffle: Nice work for one more completion. Wear your four white pearls with pride. :(

Here's a question for you......although it may just be a case of me being dimwitted.....wouldn't be the first time! ;)

I've just joined the PtR (and have already been down in Cell 42 for punctuality training! ;)), and so obviously have a desire to catch up and earn my pearls for September, October and November. If I make vows for those 3 months I've missed, do I have to complete them all within the same calendar month I make the vows? If that is the case, and I therefore decide to split the vows up, say, by vowing September's this month and leaving the other 2 months catch up for January, would that require me to do 2 additional tasks, or still just the 1?

As I said, maybe I'm overthinking this, or just being a bit dimwitted, but any clarification would be greatly appreciated. :)

There are no dimwitted questions but only such answers ... so no problems there :tu:

You have to complete any and all oaths within the month you made them. During each month, when you have completed your additional oaths, you will be given a special task...

So, if you make an oath each for Sep, Oct and Nov during December, and you manage to complete your December oath and the November oath....you will be given a sp task to qualify the November oath for a pearl. Then you may re-do your Sep and Oct oaths in January along with a January oath..and if you complete them in January you will be given a sp task to qualify the Sep and oct oaths for pearls.

On the otherhamd if you complete All Sep, Oct, Nov and Dec oaths in December, you just need to do one sp task..

This is an icnentive based event and incentives are around every corner... :)

Hope that clears things a little bit.

Cerroneth, you are like a juggernaut, there appears to be no stopping you from gaining the ten additional oaths... :) Just don't run out of steam. Always nice to see the veterans keep active right to the finish line.

Facmanpob: Interesting transformation. Just shows what a little addition can bring about. Well done.

Congratulations also to Vazzy and Bunta, who like facmanpob, are newcomers but have completed their oaths very sneakily. Just a reminder that you shoould make a post in the PtR thread announcing completion of your oaths... makes life a lot easier for me... and that as you know has to be priority!!! ;)

The newcomers this month have achieved a 40% completion rate far outstripping the completion rate amongst our veterans. Come on boys, we've got to catch up!!

Vow complete. link now 2 questions for you Shadow Guard. First, do you want us to make a vow to post a write up in the Brotherhood of Angels thread or just let you know when we do so it can be considered. Second, are we allowed to strip and repaint models we have already done during the path?

No fuss. You can do it in many ways in the Path but it will always lead to redemption ;) My preference is that you make a single post at the end of the PtR thread to announce your completion. You can add you completed image there or a link back to your original post in the PtR hread. This makes my life much easier to tarck new completions. You should also always adda completed image to your original post when you made the oath in the PtR, because in time to come as oothers go through this thread they will be able to see the beginning and end of each of your oaths.

Playing with one's nephews is a wonderful experience.... enjoy it.... really has been the highlight of my very litmited 40K gaming experience... ^_^

You should make an oath in the PtR for the Chapter History being submitted to the BHoA and that should be accompanied by an oath for a unit or character of the chapter in order to receive the Two additional white Pearls. Each of those oaths will be listed separately.

Brother Kovash, that is looking decidedly very interesting. I never thought I would appreciate purple spacemarine.... :)

December Vow Complete

I've got time to make an additional vow before performing my special task. :tu:

I, Brother Kovash, vow to complete one Thunderhawk for the Epic game system before the end of the month. This Thunderhawk will be painted using the Angels of Redemption color pattern, since they were the only Unforgiven chapter present during the Third War for Armageddon.

Master Shadow Guard this is the little surprise I was hinting at earlier. I would have had two of them, but I lost one of the auctions on ebay while I was asleep. :P

12/26/12: Second December Vow Complete

This time around, I was able to use Reaper White Primer. This stuff works great for those who prefer to prime their models by hand before painting them.

Epic models are a little tougher to paint than I had anticipated. It was still fun to paint this old model though, maybe down the road I'll paint some of the newer vehicles.

A surprise indeed! Excellent stuff there Brother Kovash! And Angels of Redemption no less - I really look forward to see this one completed... :D

*Note to self: repair catalepsean node*

Now where are we? Any late comers this month? I know December is a difficult one and have high hopes for next year's vows as the festive season will undoubtedly yield some new goodies - but there must be things you want to clear from your painting station in anticipation for the (much rumored) new Codex! So let's see some more wraping up of old projects to make room for the new ones!

We are the First, the Honored, the Sons of the Lion!

Making this vow early, as my internet is a bit wacky, plus I'm going on vacation pretty soon. Hope this is alright.

He could hear them coming for him, even from the depths of the engine room. Different types of boarding pods and assault boats had a very distinctive sound as they breached a hull, and an experienced Astartes could easily tell the difference in internal pitch from a Navy boarding team and an Marine kill-team. The warrior in ebon plate tilted his helm ever so slightly, listening as the sound carried down through the old ship's bones. A throaty hiss, a series of sharp bangs, and a tremndous crunch. The sound repeated from two different directions as well.

Cestus Assualt boats, three of them. Definetely a kill-team.

He had always known it was going to come to this, and that his death would be unremembered, lonely, and pointless. Nothing had mattered after Caliban had died, except murdering his own kin for that specific crime. His home had died free of the shakles the Imperium had placed upon it, but it had still died, and for that he could never forgive his brethren. The Ebon Knight rose from his knee, and shook his shoulders loose with a buzz of servos, preparing for the last fight of his life. Long ago, when the forests still breathed and he still bent his knee to the Lion during the Crusade, his Order had placed upon him the moniker of Elucidax; an old myth of the woods about a terrible knight who would slay both gods and man when he passed, whose fury had crafted the mountains the old Keeps had been placed upon, whose bladework had been a hurricane of blood and pain. He had always hated that name back then, as it smacked of heathen idolatry in an age of the Imperial Truth. He clutched that nickname close to his heart now, hoping that though he was to die, his fury and bladework would carry his name into infamy forever.

The door at the end of the loading bay blew open in fire and light, sending molten droplets hurtling through the cavernous bay. Stepping through the molten remains of the melta-charged door came titans of bone-white, bedecked in images of golden winged swords, led by a skull faced monster in plate as dark as his, though almost twice as large. 'Deathwing', he thought, a small smile curling the corner of his lip upwards. 'Looks like they got serious about me after Bahria Primus.'. The Knight had killed one of Angels' Chaplains on Bahria while fighting alongside Akan the Reaver, along with fifty other sons of the Lion that day. At his request, Akan had their corpses crucified in the sands of that hell of a planet, just to spite the Traitors. That had been a good day.

Charging forward with inhuman speed in plate corrupt, the monster once known as Captain Zeriah of the XIV Assault Company, now named Elucidax, Keeper of Blades, drew his stolen swords and screamed as hard and loud as his vox-amped voice would allow...

"DEATH TO THE LION!!! REMEMBER CALIBAN!!!"

+++

I, 1000heathens, vow to complete one Fallen: Elucidax the Keeper, Murderer of Angels and Heroes, by the end of January. I spit upon your Primarch, traitors in green. May you all burn like Caliban's forests did.

Don't send a mass invite and not expect a few Fallen to show up.... :D
