Greetings all.
I was just wondering who here would like to discuss the various colors Nurgle Marines might be painted in. To this discussion you can submit a color scheme in this format: (for the example i use my own Nurgle Marine color scheme from the Doomsday Brotherhood)

Main armour: Knarloc green highlighted with 1:1 mix Knarl green and skull white
Trim: Snakebite leather highlighted bleached bone drybrushed with skull white. A natrual bone color. Also used as Main armour color for Champs, Lords etc and weapons, teeth, exposed bone. Generally heaped throughout army.
Skin and mutated armour, stomachs etc.: Blood red drybrushed with 1:2 mix Blood red and Skull white (im a blendaholic) highlighted same color mixed with bleached bone. Gloss Varnish
Cloth and fur: Snot green highlighted with Snot green mixed 1:2 with skull white.

All other comments on the sort of Nurgly color schemes you use welcome!

I guess there are 2 sides when it comes to bainting Nurgle, specifically Death Guard. Some prefer gree, and some prefer brown. My prospective color scheme is...

Armor: White primer, khemri brown, 1:1 khemri brown, deneb stone, green inking, 1:1 Deneb stone, rotting flesh
Diseased flesh: Warlock purple, hormagaunt purple, 1:1 hormagaunt purple, ice blue.

That's all I have figured out at this point.

That sounds good, a lot like the Pre-Heresy death guard. While I have a lot of respect for the Death Guard, I really like seeing individualised chapters not from Death Guard. Death Guard is good, but Nurgle takes all chapters who wanna join the club. laugh.gif

I saw a paint scheme I liked on deathguard.org before it went down. Thankfully I wrote the recipe down. It's a dirty white.

=Armor=
-Prime White
-Basecoat with Off White mixture (white w/ a little brown, green, and grey)
-Glaze with a 50/50 mix of green and brown ink
-Heavy drybrush with the Off White
-Highlight with pure white

Not the exact colors. Espically the the 'white' it's the best I can do with MSPaint. That is pretty much the scheme I'm going to use. Left shoulder armor and arm are colored to tie together with the undivided marines that are the bulk of my army. Right shoulder inserts will be colored yellow, red, or another diferent color as squad markings.

Still need to get stuff painted for myself and the Call of Chaos thread.

I just started painting mine so I'm still working out some of the mix ratios and some other minor things but this is my color scheme:

Black undercoat

Armor:
2 thin layers of catchan green
1 wash of 50/50 catachan green/chaos black
another layer of catachan green
layer of approx. 75/25 catachan green/rotting flesh
layer of approx. 25/75 catachan green/rotting flesh

Armor Trim:
Thinned layer of chainmail
black wash
wash of approx. 75/25 borwn ink/fiery orange\
drybrush of chainmail

The armor trim I'm going to keep working on and experimenting with glazes on metals. I will also be using a different technique for plague swords which will have various rust effects.

Base:

scorched brown
graveyard earth drybrush
kommando khaki drybrush
base trim is pure graveyard earth

Bolter:

scorched brown

terracotta highlights

Here's the test mini:

lol, seeing as im a bit of a noob when it comes to painting my scheme is simple, but i think it looks quite good.
Basicly, its a black undercoat, catchan green, then boltgun metal trim with some brown extras (belts, bags etc). Finally snot green symbols and markings. Simple, but effective.

I go with Camo green undercoat, Bestial Brown trims and then 1 green ink and 2 brown ones. For blades i use Boltgun metal and lots of brown ink. Guns either the same as blades or brazen brass. If u want 2 know bout daemons, even though they aint as good as they were, just ask.

If you look in Works in Progress, you'll see my new color scheme I'm doing (pics are kinda iffy, but you get the idea). I start out by priming them chaos black, bascoat the model bleached bone, do a wash of Flesh Wash over the entire model, then add watered down Brown ink in the recesses, wait for it to dry, then add a little Black Ink as well. After that, I drybrush w/ Bleached Bone, splotch the armor w/ Ivory( I also use Reaper Miniatures paints due to the selection), paint the trim Olive or Camo color, and just take care of the details. As for flesh, I base them a yellow-white color, to give them a sickened look, then just add flesh wash over it. Easy peasy.

I started with Rotting Flesh and then built that up through several layers with skull white added to the Rotting Flesh. I trimmed it with Reaper Pine Green and then washed it with a green/brown/yellow mix a few times to grunge it up. The idea being that the armor was still showing some semblence of the original Legion colors. Painted this somewhere around 5 years ago and haven't done another DeathGuard since.
