My army - Logan's Night Runners

DGC

Recommended Posts

I have already posted this in the +Space Wolf Painting, Converting, Etc.+ thread but thought I would post here as well so I can keep all my new bits in one place as and when they get finished. There is also more opportunity to talk about them or receive C&Cs without clogging up the other thread.

This comes in around 2000pts I think but I need to build and paint a few more things to give the army a bit more flexability. The Dread weapons and most special weapons are magnetised so I can trim the odd few points here and there if needs be, or to add more specialised options depending on my opponant. I have also built and painted spare turret hatches with and without storm bolters to get as many options as I can.

Two 6 man GH squads - built to be used with Razorbacks but tooled so I can use them as a 10 man squad with any options and 'pod' them

Pretty much.

Black base then Shadow Gey, first wide highlight of Shadow Grey / Space Wolf Grey 50/50, second narrower highlight with more Space Wolf Grey, last extreme highlight pure Space Wolf Grey. I mix a thin 50/50 Shadow Grey/Chaos Black, almost as thin as a wash and redefine the panel shadows then apply a very thin wet-brush of straight Shadow Grey to try and blend the colours together. I like the blue/grey finish and I am trying to get the blending more graduall. I'm still trying (more practise needed)

Glad you like

I love it, they have a very 2nd edition blue/grey purple skeme, very hard to but you have managed it really well. excellent work, maybe do a tutorial with a step by step guide, I would def be interested in that. Plus i like the skin tones you have painted, very natural looking

That's really awesome. A lot of cool conversions and nice painting overall! I was never a fan of helmet-wolves, but hey, they're cool too.

Those dropods, are they homemade or what? Don't quite look like Forge World's to me :Elite:

Thanks for the comments

As for the drop pods, I got them off eBay a year or two ago from a guy in Australia. They are resin, but not brilliant, loads of tiny air bubbles, flash, bent or twisted bits etc. It took a bit of work to get them to go together (one of which I built wrong) but after painting they turned out alright. If I could find him again I would still buy more, mainly because 2 of his + P&P came to just over the price of a FW one. Time is one thing I can always find, cash isn't so easy. I have a feeling that he has ceased trading though, in these anyway, as I'm sure some of the parts he used to make his masters were GWs. I think the I.P police must have caught him.

This visiting Blood Angel also admires your work (I occasionally like to visit the other marines with fangs). Are those tiny claws you put on your WGBL's power fists? Awesome.

No. It's the Chaos Marine power fist with the last tip of each finger painted black like claws - something different I suppose
