Immortal Emperor of Man-Kind, Hear my Call!

I, Shortsonfire79 hereby pledge my body and soul, my faith and that of my troops', to you, Emperor of Man.

I promise to you, that I will paint (to completion) 670 points of Royal Redeemers (1 five man Terminator Squad w/ Assault Cannon, 2 Dreadnoughts, Librarian, Chaplain in Termie armor) - within the space of 2 months. (End of January)

I also promise to provide my fellow brothers and sisters in arms with a project update, meeting the minimum requirement per month and helping those who feel their faith in you has faltered.

THE ROYAL REDEEMERS

Heres the WIP Fluff...that I haven't worked on in a couple of weeks.

A successor chapter of the Imperial Fists, the Royal Redeemers are a chapter composed of highly trained, elite battle brothers. The original First Company was entirely from the elites of the Imperial Fists. Since then, battle brothers were pulled from any of the other companies of their own chapter, only the most important brothers entombed in Dreadnought Armor. The other companies are able to replenish their own numbers from the Scout Company, which is highly drilled so they can come close to matching the skills of the present battle brothers in the Ninth Company.

The chapter is fortunate enough to have a very large, and well stocked armory. They are fortunate enough to have eighteen Land Raiders between the ten companies, and a super-heavy Land Raider Exterminus, one of six in current commission of the entire Imperium. They have over two hundred different tanks and variations. Each one modular so the Techmarines don’t have a lot of trouble refitting them for different battles. The First Company has been blessed by the God Emperor himself, given sixty-five suits of Tactical Dreadnought armor, though, in battle, most brothers like the mobility of normal armor. Once the chapter hit full strength, it was given its fleet of one Battle Barge, nine Strike Cruisers, and appropriate rapid strike and escort vessels from the Imperial Fists' extensive fleet, and struck out to forge a destiny of their own. The chapter searched around the Imperium for two years, until they came to a planet in the Segmentum Solar. Brylaz. (Bree-Laahs). The Battle Barge is dubbed Death’s Redeemer, while the Strike Cruisers are titled- The Emperor’s Wraith, The Brylazi Hope, The Gracemeria, The Imperious, The Guardian of Brylaz, The Sword Infernus, and a team of Strike Cruisers that are always together, Redemption’s Hammer, Redemption’s Fist, and The Sword of Redemption.

If they lose an important battle brother, like a Company Master or Chapter Master, he would be venerated in the carapace of a Dreadnought. As an Old One, he would be placed into the First Company. There, he would be placed into a special Dreadnought squad, consisting of ten or more other Old Ones. In large battles, they will fight together, acting as a walking gun emplacement. Bringing heavy firepower to any battlefront. Its been known, for this squad to run out of targets to unleash hell upon, and be picked up by four Thunderhawk Gunships to be strategically redeployed somewhere else. The effective firepower, plus two lifetimes worth of experience can easily overwhelm a target quickly.

The chapter’s colors, black and blue, are taken from the Black Templars, and Crimson Fists respectively. It’s seen as an homage to the two very successful successor chapters of the Imperial Fists. The Royal Redeemers brothers each have a plate on their armor painted bright yellow, showing their faith to Rogal Dorn and The Immortal Emperor. The yellow plate on every brother is placed in a different spot, depending on where they want it.

The chapter adopted the customs of the Brylazi and so the chapter train heavily with ranged weaponry and spend most of their down time practicing firefights with each other, using bolts without the explosive charge. All Battle Brothers are required to have any sort of firearm when they go into battle. Be it a Plasma Pistol or a Lascannon, every brother will have one. Each man, when he is indicted as a true Battle Brother, and no longer a member of the tenth, will receive his Holy Bolter, and go through a ritual, and will take an oath, to stay silent, and fast for three days while on the planet of Brylaz.

The chapter’s ninth company function as the chapters only reserve company and are the permanent guardians of the fortress monastery and defenders of the surrounding home system. Elements from the ninth company are spread around the system manning important fortifications and orbital stations. Should the Death’s Redeemer or any of the Strike Cruisers fall, the ninth company would be broken down, and reorganized to replace the fallen brothers. Being in the ninth company, they usually have fresh recruits, so they spend most of their time training them. The company doesn’t see battle very often, but are sometimes called to defend nearby systems from small Ork raids, or any planetary revolts.

The Royal Redeemers are a flexible fighting force, which perform well and adapt quickly to any combat situation. Trained to respond sharply and decisively to the tactical orders of the commanders; the chain of command within the chapter is very efficient. The chapter uses many tactics depending on the situation but the favored doctrine of brutal strike, or entire company drop pod assaults. Often the chapter uses a battle method sought out by the Iron Hands Chapter Master Ferran Valor. The Deathknell Orbital Strike, loving the ability to announce their arrival before they HAMMER the enemy to their deaths. The chapter pride themselves at their ability to deploy quickly and reliably, where and when required.

The entire chapter, save for the ninth company was present at the War for Orteaz (Or-Tea-Ahs), due to the high impact threat, and their burning hate of the forces of Chaos. They were one of six Space Marine chapters who answered the call for help by the Planetary Defense Force, the other five being the Ultramarines, Blood Angels, Imperial Fists, TRON Templars, and the Doom Eagles. The Royal Redeemers and Ultramarines were the only ones who committed more than half their chapter to the war. Marneus Calgar saw this as an amazing feat, that there was another chapter that was willing to commit themselves against fighting the agents of Chaos. The Royal Redeemers weren’t the hardest or most brutal fighters, but they were the most tactically aware and ready, which with Captain Darnath Lysander’s tactical adeptness, helped secure important objectives, which enabled the arrival of heavier war machines, like Titans to be brought to the battlefield.

The Royal Redeemers were the second chapter to arrive to the Orteaz System. There was a small Blood Angels fleet lurking behind the third planet in the system. The Royal Redeemers didn’t bother questioning the wisdom of the commander, as the Blood Angels have had much more experience since before the Horus Heresy. The Royal Redeemers were getting ready to drop pod to the fifth planet in the system, where the primary threat was spotted, when the Blood Angel commander, Mephiston, Lord of Death, contacted them on the intercom. He said that the force on-planet was so large, they would need sufficiently more reinforcements. He had already attempted to contact the Planetary Defence Forces to see what the threat was. There was no PDF left to respond.

Behind the Royal Redeemers, heavy transports from the Adeptus Titanicus Legion Ferrus Sempiterna arrived. With the added firepower of the Titans, the battle could surely be won. The rest of the chapters arrived in similar fasion, each group being intercepted before they made the mistake of attacking the planet. With the Royal Redeemers’ pre-tactical analysis, Lysander was able to coordinate a battle plan for the entire force. Marneus Calgar was also able to determine where the Titans would be needed for a full frontal attack. Calgar naturally assumed the role of Supreme Commander for the entire Imperial Force. None of the other commanders agued.

Arduanus Isaac Selanus, Chapter Master of the Royal Redeemers had already sent out a couple of Thunderhawk Gunships to survey the planet’s surface for force mobilization. While there, the gunships reported a high concentration of Chaos Forces, moving to a central area. The area where they were forming is unknown. There are thoughts of warp gates being open to bring in Chaos Daemons from the Warp. On this note, Selanus, Calgar, and Lysander alerted the entire force of the thread that the Chaos infestation bears.

After a Council meeting, the forty (ten Royal Redeemers, eight Ultramarines, four Imperial Fists, four Blood Angels, three TRON Templars, and three Doom Eagles, and the eight Titan Princeps) commanders were informed of the battle plan, and told to form up their forces. The Imperium shall bring another victory under its belt.

The Royal Redeemers were told by Selanus that majority of the chapter will be drop podding together. The first companies of the entire Imperial force will be mobilizing after a Deathknell Missile brings a teleport homer to the planet’s surface. There would be a total of 115 Tactical Dreadnought Armored marines on the battlefield. Royal Redeemers’ scouts would be deployed in key areas, to help pick off squad leaders and commanders with their sniper rifles.

TRON Templar Marines belongs to Doremicom over on Youtube.

Adeptus Titanicus Legion Ferrus Sempiterna belongs to LordMarcus over on 40KTerra.

Worked on my Terminator squad yesterday. (Did the bracing for the armor, and worked on the eyes.)

Ten bucks says I can't finish these by tomorrow night.

The eyes need to be cleaned up, need to do the sensor things, do the belts, start and finish the guns, Chest eagles, and the details. And Highlight the black.

I'll base them when I get some cork to work with.

Hey guys.

Sorry, nothing great today. I had a Tournament of Champions for band which took up a large portion of my day (4:00 AM-6:00 PM) and then I fell asleep until 9:00...

Well, anyways. Last night at about 1:00 AM, when I should have been sleeping, I managed to apply a couple of coats on my Standard. I went from Adeptus Battlegrey (Foundation), to Fortress Grey, to two coats of Skull White. Obviously its still not nice looking. And I'll clean it up with black, and then I'll quarter the colors to black and Necron Abyss (Foundation) and probably have some yellow on the pointy things at the bottom.

I spoke of removing the head from the test mini. Which I did, and replaced it with a head that had a Green Stuffed beret. Which I'm highly fond of, since the Sousaphone section in my Marching Band (me and a friend) have to wear berets because the Tri-Corner hats don't work with the instruments.

I'll possibly be painting the Terminators tomorrow, but I have a load of homework to do, and I'm going over to Articwolf01's house for a barbecue...So I don't know.

Thank you =-D

Alright.. I finished highlighting the Terminators, and I cleaned up the eyes.

I put a couple more coats on the Standard too..its really streaky, chunky, and you can see through it and everything. I think I'm going to have to buy another Command Squad, which I hope to get for Christmas. Then primer the new Standard white.

I also worked on the Standard some more, but it isn't worth posting. I'll save that in case the Terminators don't work. =-D

I plan on doing the Crux Terminatuses later, at the same time the Chest Eagles and the guys face.

Thanks. Yeah, I found that out.. =-( I originally had (still do though) a Dark Angels force, and so the Deathwing only have squads of 5, which enables them to have the heavy wep...BUT seeing as the new Codex (I never had the old) is 'screwy'... Its a good thing I magnetized it.

ACTUALLY I just checked the Codex, and it says

For every five models in the squad, one Terminator may choose one of the following options

The options being the Asst cannon, flamer, or Cyclone. SO, if I have 10 termies, I get 2 of them =-D

So here's the pictures that Wargamingbunker requested. The Chest Eagles and skulls and stuff look like crap, because I just finished a coat of white. Apparently the the white wasn't as thin as I thought it was...and its pretty damn thin. I will be using this tutorial, for the Chest Eagles and Skulls, and I will be painting the Crux Terminatusi to look like the rock...granite...Marble...

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_19411.jpg

I started work on their bases too..not much to show. The one that has the sand on it is for my Chaplain Asmodeus. (name probably going to change) and the small base is for my 'test model' heavy bolter-beret man. =-D. Skippy.

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_19421.jpg

No progress on the Standard, except that now the white is pretty opaque...though I'm probably going to have to sand it with 500+ sandpaper (which I have =-D ) because its very streaky and lumpy.

Theres a fluff update too, but I will put it up tomorrow, as I'm sure I will have expanded it even more.

I've worked some more on the chest eagles. They need to be cleaned up, and possibly (but not likely) highlighted. They're all done.

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_19591.jpg

Their bases..The one with the large Green Stuff patch is for my Interrogator Chaplain ( I think I stated this once before)

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/shortsonfire79/IMG_19601.jpg

Deathknell Missile. I need to make the crater more...craterish.

I'm looking for Chaosy bitz too, if anyone has any to trade.

I can't believe I have to ASK for C$C (Yeah thats right, a dollar sign)
