Howdy all,

Here's my take on Vulkan He'stan, no prizes for guessing which model he's based on (but you can guess anyway if you like :P)

I think I will probably highlight him eventually, but he's tabletop quality atm, and that's good enough for me.

very nice conversion, loving the trimmed lightning claw for his gauntlet. I agree with the above about the paintjob, the green doesn't look finished. We see what you've done on the halberd and it's lovely, carry it over onto the armour and it will be a spangly centrepiece for your army!

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated.

Yes he's based on Sicarius, although I dislike the stock model it has so much potential, and was perfect for this conversion.

I have to admit that highlighting marine minis scares the crap out of me. I find painting marines so difficult to do well. Too much flat space that requires a lot of thought and hard work to look really good. How would you guys suggest I highlight him?

Blended area highlights on pronounced areas. think cylinders and circles.

I've done this example for someone else.

It's really nice - certainly the best version of Vulkan I've yet seen - one question though, perhaps have a butt spike on the end of the halberd? As if he's jabbing at someone to immobilise them before swinging the blade overarm to finish them off.
