Ok not much to look at yet, but wanted to get the thread started.

The Start

Cleaned and mods started.

Overall I am not very happy with this model. The fit up is going to be a nightmare. Also it is beyond me how I am going to get the 2 fingers on the powerfist to stay attached. Any tips on that would be appreciated.

I have an old pewter Furioso dread I put together recently so I can offer some help.

1) 2 part epoxy. It is far better than superglue could ever be.

2) Pinning, this is where you cut small pieces of metal rod and get that little drill set out and 'pin' the model together with the help of some epoxy putty.

3) Epoxy putty, aka green stuff. Just roll out some thin pieces and fill in all the gaps.

4) Miniature file set, this will help you clean all those mold lines, because its not as easy as plastic models

5) I also have some modelling epoxy putty (white stuff) which has with a bit of water turns into more of a paste, I really like this for filling in gaps because its much easier to work with, ie you can just smear it over the gap and sand it later!

Good luck!

Ok here are some more pics of the accesorizing. One thing i like about this model, is you can really bling it up. I mean cmon this guy is supposed to be ancient so would only make sense that he has a few badges.

Kinda put together laying flat.

Thanks for the input, I got the fingers with a lil GS help. I use a jewelers kit personally for my tool box of cleaning and fitting. Also i use the same white putty with some water to fill gaps. Anyways i think im about done with fisting him up, onto gap filling and sanding, oh boy.

That chest eagle is epic and the two banners are even more EPIC. Really, what better way to show your venerable then by having two banners? Good luck with that model though, metal models are already a b@#$! to put together, but I can't imagine putting together a metal dread. That's why I've always stayed away from that kit.

I have used small peices of BT icon's throughout my army. It is more of a personal preference. In my mind seeing as they are both successors of the IMP Fist, they would most likely share atleast some things in common. Whether that makes sense to the true fluff, i dont know, but thats how i like it, and thats how I am going to do it. I have been working on a mould using the templar cross with a fist in the center of it, rather than a skull to use like on a company champ or somthing like that.

I would say im about 90% on the model. I still need to do the base. I have to say this guy is a friggin nightmare to put together. You may see all the scrathed paint from trying to put the bastard together. So yes lots of touch ups. Still need to paint the upper thigh guards.

Overall Im happy with the result. I dont want to do another, but the LPC has kept me motivated.

C&C openly accepted.

Thanks for Looking!!

Nice work mate. Your efforts to acce3ssorize it have worked well.

One thing that leapt out at me was the feathers on the icon on it's chest. I think you need to paint the lighter colour further up the feather, and maybe a very thin highlight on the upper edge of each one.

But other than that, nice work!

yes i agree with you on the feathers. You notice alot more areas, once its assembled. Like I said I have still a good bit of work to do on the fine details. Im hoping to finish him up by friday, and do the base over the weekend.

Thanks everyone for looking.

really nicely done - the conversions add a really gotic feel to it with the censor and the skele. Only issueI have is with the banners - not what they are but just how dwarfed they seem by the rest of the mini...They almost detract from it's epicness by being too small - I say go with 2 chapter banners ;)

just my 2 penneth
