Working on the Terminators I promised for the painting challenge

I actually have to have them ready for a tournament this weekend so i've been working my brushes off to get em ready.

Chaplain will take a little more time on to get him ready.

Yessir, I do play world of warcraft.

As for the terminators, I am using the new plastic arms and bits on the old metal bodies.

They still look pretty darn good and give a much better pose than the old metal arms did.

I'm still working on how to get my camera to take better close ups, there's a few settings I still need to play with...

Getting a good white helmet on them is a real pain, same with highlighting the vents and other nooks n crannies.

I wound up getting 2 light coats of skull white followed by a finish coat, then went into the depressions with codex gray to show that the vents still exist.

The knee pads were done same style as the shields, gold skull, white center red outline. I've got a ton of seals to paint and shoulder pads too. Ah well, got the rest of the week to work on it!

More pics to follow...

Pretty much finished, just going to add some scripture lines and other bits on the ribbons.

I have some sand and some snow flock that im going to experiment with.

They are all old metal terms that have been upgraded with the new plastic bits. They give the models a really beefy look. The arms and that are a little out of proportion but looking at them you would have trouble telling unless you put em side by side, or held them.

Some pics for the bases...

I have one that is on the little base and the bigger base with some white glue to build it up.

The other one is just on the big base with the little metal piece between the feet filed off.

I did a base of sand with a layer of glue on top, dipped it in the snow, and then while it was still wet, I set it up on a ledge to give a bit of a "drift" effect.
