I do mine like this:

1) Undercoat with Chaos Black (spray preferably)

2) Basecoat model in Boltgun Metal (Leave out the details and the weapons)

Details

1) Use Brazen Brass/Burnished Gold/Shining Gold (either or NOT all) on the parts with words

2) Cover those parts in one layer of Badab Black

3) Paint Eyes Ice Blue

Final Step:

1) Wash the Model in 2 Layers of Badab Black (Even the eyes-make sure you dont cover the eyes in too much Badab black though). Leave out the book, the NFW, the Purity Seals and the Heraldry

Highlights

1) Optional

Any other bits, i leave to you to paint.

Edit: Changed 1st step from Basecoat to Undercoat

i usually go chaos black undercoat, boltgun metal base coat, chainmail dry brush and finish of with an even lighter mithril silver dry brushing

for the inscriptions its (from the black undercoat)drybrush chain mail then mithril then a really old pot of shining gold gently dry brushed over it with a chestnut brown wash to finish

ends up like this

but i only really paint to table top standard so theres probably tons of other steps you could add in :)

lol... i rarely undercaot my models... am i a heretic?? I just never have any luck with the GW primer, always ends up going on too thick or is stupidly watery and flood all the details... so i say myself time paintstripping stuff and just paint the model :)

I used to paint mine using a basecoat mix of chainmail and blue (wasn't a GW blue but i would guess something like mordian blue or possibly regal) and then just added mithril silver for each highlight... if i wanted the metal to look more blue i just added a thinned down blue ink into the very recesses of the armour....

I only do mine to table-top quality, but what I do is:

1)Undercoat w chaos black spray

2)Paint almost all of the mini boltgun

3)Paint writing and some details shining gold

4)Put libiral ammounts of brown ink on the gold

5)Cover everything with watered-down green ink

6)Do a a few highlights

7)Do a few details, parchment, GK logo, name, etc

8)Paint the blade in a way that I feel too sick to explain, but it looks green, swirly and AWESOME!

My GKs normally look a lot darker than other peoples (and greener) but I think it looks good, all the same.

I've got a pic here somewhere that I'll put up soon...

6. darken certain joints etc with badab black (this was what I dropped step 2 for)

7. touch up any stray wash areas with Mythril Silver

Gold.

1. paint Shining gold

2. Devlan mud wash

3. light drybrush raised areas (text) with Shining Gold

4. highlight Burnished Gold

5. Gryphonne Sepia wash

Parchment.

1. paint Bronzed Flesh

2. layer on Bleached Bone

3. final layer of skull white

4. text applied using fine tipped artist pen I found in WH Smiths

Eyes.

1 Ultramarine Blue

2. highlight Space Wolves Grey

Red.

Haha, yep

Hope you like the pics/method and the help ^_^

Mind you, i took 6 hours to do that, all because i was having trouble with the tiny bits to paint (I drank a double espresso, hand was shaking)

I kinda like the darker look, but i was shooting for the shining white silvery look :) yours are more of the evil dark knight look lol :) not that thats bad, they look sweet.

You could, instead of using Bolgun Metal, use Chainmail OR Mithril Silver with either 1 layer of gloss varnish ("shiny") or 1 layer of badab black, thats what i would do.

Yea I was kinda going for the "over-used Metal" look, you know? The one that you usually find on Knights of the Middle Ages(especially the mercenaries), not forgetting this is the grim dark-far-future setting we are all used to ;)

Here's my most recent termi, I edited the photo a bit to make the paint colours closer to what they really look like, they were a bit washed out...

I painted up a squad of Grey Knight Termies in a kind of backwards way. I was originally going to make them Termies for a custom army, but I still like the way they turned out.

Basecoat with Chaos Black(preferably spray paint.)

Armour:

1. Paint with a coat of Chainmail.

2. Paint over with 1 or 2 coats of Mithril Silver.

3. Paint vents on back in Boltgun Metal

NOTE: leave support rods on legs black.

Weapons:

(Storm Bolter)

1. Paint barrels, ammo magazines(there are two. one in the gun, one on his belt), sight, cables and rear of storm bolter in Boltgun Metal. Leave body of gun black.

2. Paint Skull( or whatever decoration is on it) in several coats of Shining Gold. Make sure the first few coats are a little watered down, so that they don't gob up on the details. Also, paint the bolts themselves in gold.

(Halberd)

1. Leaving the haft of the weapon in black, paint the power field emitter at the base of the blade, the skull at the end of the haft, and the little rings in Shining Gold.

2. Paint the whole blade in Boltgun Metal.

3. Highlight the blade by painting the "sharpened" portion in Mithril Silver.

Script, skulls, and amulets:

1. Paint all script and skulls on the model in several coats of slightly watered down Shining Gold. This allows the paint to get in all of the seams.

2. Wash all of the gold on the model with Chestnut Ink.

Parchment:

1. Paint all parchment with Elf Flesh.

2. Wash all parchment Chestnut Ink.

3. Using a detail brush, very carefully paint words (or scribbles) on the parchment.

Eyes:

Nothing Special. I painted mine in Red Gore rather than blue because I thought it looked cooler. Chestnut Ink wash is optional.

Miscellaneous:

For the chains, I painted them all Boltgun Metal, then drybrushed them with Mithril Silver.

The book was painted in several coats of Red Gore to make the cover, while the pages were done the same way as all the other parchment.

Pics:

will go up as soon as i find the transfer cable.

They may not be the best painted grey knights. but here is how i did mine.

Armour.

Black undercoat.

watered down boltgun metal leaving the black in the cracks (it's important to water it down to make it shiny)

highlight of mithril silver along the egdes of the armour.

Done :P

If you are going for some speed, I suggest you dip them.

1) Spray Silver. Use a hobby-quality spray. Do NOT use a normal silver spray. Hobby-quality sprays have finer pigments and prevent the details from getting clogged up. Personally I use Mr. Hobby.

2) Paint your base.

3) Paint gold details.

4) Paint parchment details, chapter symbol, heraldry. (All should be simple since silver is a light colour.)

5) Dip the model. For best effects use a black-based dip, like Army Painter's Quick Shade Dark tone.

If you only count the time needed to do the painting, it would easily be 10-15min per model, unless you do a lot of freehands.

Here's an example
