Sister of Battle Costume!

Recommended Posts

Apologies if this section of the boards are restricted to miniatures only, but i thought this the best place for this, i'm more of a lurker around these parts.

So my wife took the SoB suit i recently finished making out for a spin on Saturday of San Diego Comic Con, the prototype run as it were.

I was in my new commissar costume with my plasma pistol, including manly chops (i'll post shots of that later) and i took some business cards with me, i ran out, and i was not giving them out to just random passers by, they were given to professionals of the industry who were interested in the costume.

The reactions to the costume were mind blowing.

I've been working on this costume for over perhaps 6 months in my spare time, one piece at a time, this was the first day i had seen the whole project completed and assembled fully.

Just trying to cross the dealers/exhibitioners hall took us many hours, as we would get stopped every few steps, and every time we stopped for more than a few seconds, we had a crowd of people coming and going constantly, trying to take pictures for perhaps upto five mins before people had had their fill and we would try to rush along for a few more feet before being stopped once again.

The reactions were priceless, and i was grinning the whole day, so hard, my face hurts!

Wow! That suit looks amazing! Absaloutely stunning! The attention to detail is quite fantastic. No small wonder you were stopped every few steps. Much kudos to you!

All I would suggest adding perhaps is the rather lethal looking spiky garter on the leg as features on many of the SoB models (and oddly, some Space Marine ones too.) If you have the time, I'd love to see a helmet for it too!

Oh and, with all due respect, you have a beautiful wife too.

*edit* p.s. If you could make those boltguns actually work too, that would be pretty awesome

Positively amazing... Considering I am starting on my first foray into this field with a Wolf Scout (if I had workshop space i'd try power armor) I may very well be pestering you for feedback and help. Using nerf guns for the base on mine and ran into a sticky spot. Looks absolutely stunning!!

I believe i've seen your Comissar get-up around the net too, if you are who I believe, so if you can't post them here, certainly PM me as I'd love to see any changes you've made!

Kai has also made something for the B&C which we will be springing on folks in a few months. =][= :D =][=

Of which i will also remain tight lipped about, so if anyone asks, i wont be telling i'm afraid. :)

Kai - can you post some of the close up shots of the shoulders and backpack (saw them on the RELIC forums).

Sure thing.

These are WIP shots, so there's excess paint on areas, some colors and hues are different, like both shoulder pads match in gold color ect,

there is a camelbak water pack built into the sister backpack for her so she can get water without taking the armor off, smoke breaks on the other hand... :D

Did she happen to comment on how combat ready she felt wearing those heels? Sure, them boots are made for walkin’ but I’m thinking that they would be simply murder during any kind of a forced march.

Very nicely done. Cheers, -OMG

My friend, that is the Adeptus Sororitas. Welcome to the Imperium! Luxury and comfort will cost you your life, but pain and torture are free to all who want it and those who don't too.
