stinkenheim Posted September 29, 2009 Share Posted September 29, 2009 I really like the terminator conversions, very nice use of the grey knight models and some of the ther conversions are very nice ideas too. from a painting point of view, the white needs a bit of work, i don't know if you paint it just pure white or not. i tend to do it is space wolf grey basecoat, a thinned down blue wash in the recesses, a 50/50 space wolf grey and white mix over most of the area (apply a couple of thinned coats to get a more even finish) then pure white highlight on the edges. it should help ith a bit more contrast on the white areas and stop them looking quite as flat. the reds are quite nice, but maybe use purple/blue wash to shade them a little and then edge highlight with blood red and maybe even a very thin final highlight of blazing orange. the silver is looking nice aswell. all in all a very good and solid start to the army, its just some areas of the models look like they need a bit more definition to make them 'pop' a bit moe and have more visual impact. keep on with them as they are looking very good so far and my comments are only suggestions, i would be more than happy to see them line up against me on the battlefield andy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am currently working on the same color scheme after I got the idea from a history channel segment on the knights templar, in fact almost exactly the same scheme. :down: Anyway great work and how about just Templar Knights for the name? Finally decided on Knights Templar as the name thanks to Centurion. :P I had intended on making an apoc size force, but I've gotten very bored and frustraited of my colour scheme. My plan was to build another 3 Tac Squads Regular Command Squad 1 Assauly Squad 1 Devestator Squad 1 more Vindicator Landraider Crusader Ares pattern Landraider 2 more "counts as" bike squads Knights A "counts as" Mounted Khan A "counts as" Vulcan 6/7 More Rhino's 2-4 Razorbacks 2nd Shooty Terminator Squad 4 more Dreadnaughts (2 regular, 2 ironclad) 2nd Vanguard Squad, but with JPs Sternguard Squad Plus some home made vehicles. I may still do these in the future. But no promises at this point. I know i'm far from the best painter/sculpter on here, but C&C is always welcome. I will say though, I Know the white needs work, more high lights and bolters need drilling etc, lol. (really wish I hadn't started metalics) EDIT: Added the force pic. Well I started them 2 years ago nearly. And back then I'd never even heard of B&C. But since coming on here I have seen lots of Non Metalic Metalics. Using grays and washes etc. If I was starting them now, I'd try going down that route. Because high lighting I found very difficult on these models an in the end I just gave up on that. Something I hear alot when people see my Cavalry is, "How would they support the weight of the Marine?" Or. "You should make the horse have bionics" etc etc. An while noone has mentioned anything like this here, I have seen it mentioned on another persons thread. But something most people do find interesting is, I actually used the legs from the Chaos Knights models. ok I made them a lil more like Space Marine legs. But the size is original. Not only that.
