The first couple images are the assembled mini, to give an idea of the parts that went into it. (Yes, my camera and photography skills are... lacking)

I have base-coated him black and done the Mechrite Red coat so far:

His right hand is magnetized so I can switch out his gun. I imagine I will always equip him with some manner of power weapon/relic blade.

Update for this evening.

The red has gotten it's 3rd layer of thinned blood red. Most of the other areas have their undercoat. I'm hoping I can highlight the gold enough and enrich the red with Baal wash because right now he's looking very... Khorne-ate.

Rumors has it the new codex will give BA access to a piece of wargear called A Laurel of Thorns which will help them dictate if the Red Thirst overcomes a squad or not. I added the laurel to stand in for that but I'm unsure what to paint it. I could go with gold, but there is a lot of that already. I thought about trying metallic green a-la viva metallica. I have a few test pieces in the works to see if I can even pull that off.

Any ideas?

so far looks good dude

its turns out that i have the same wings so what i would sugest is to lightly drybrush the wings with a lighter color like so that is my Dark Angels Company Master. I used that idea to paint up my Golden Bolter single mini entry but sadly i got 4 votes :/ but meh

hopefully this will help you out

Indeed. The plan is to hit them with white and then a coat of black wash. I tested a few undercoats and a few different washes. All the brown-ish washes just looked hideous while the black sort of greyed it some but did an excellent job of picking out the details. And there are a lot of details in those wings. I was sad to read that this mini would not be tourney-legal b/c the wings are not GW and the base is "not the base the miniature came with." But I used 40mm instead of the 25mm because of those big metal wings. This mini is very top heavy.
