40K Daemon Engine: Deathdealer

Recommended Posts

Hello folks,

I started back in on this project around 6 weeks ago after it spent about 14 months of the shelf of shame. It’s a 40K deathdealer based on an old epic stalwart. It’s effectively a chaos temple mounted on a baneblade chassis with a soul grinder stuck to the front. It's meant to transport marines/daemons into the heart of the action where they leap off the stairs and do their thing. All the while the daemon engine blasts away.

Here’s how it left the shelf …

These shots are of the chassis as it is now. I’ve used “salt flaking” to get the paint chipped effect at the front of baneblade and wet blending on the armoured plates. The look I went for is a former IG tank which has now been possessed.

Any C&C welcome.

I shaved down the underside of the grinder until I got a reasonable fit. I clipped and reversed the arms so as to attach them to the front of the tank. I then plastic-pinned the thing to the baneblade. It’s the same as regular pinning but uses plastic rods & plastic cement. The leg sockets have been filled with the lamps and bits from a manufactorum kit

The Soul Grinder has had a grill added to mouth, additional barrels to is gun and some extra detail added to the body, Khorne symbol, bone spur etc… I’m in the midst of painting it at the moment.

I've never seen anything like that before, not that I know many of the more bizarre epic models, thats a monster. An insane creation, I'd be intimidated seeing that come out to play. I bet thats tough to destroy and a very impressive center piece to an army.
