I haven't seen this model painted yet so I finished him up because I think its such a nice sculpt. Let me know what you think.

Good work with the grey, it's not a direction I would normally think of with Blood Angels or a successor. The power sword has a nice 'crackle' within the lightning and the metal on the jump pack is very bright and clean-looking. I really like the gems the most though. They really stand out in a nice way.

That being said, I think face could use some more brightening. The highlights are very abrupt and you see what should be shadows too early. Just a little more highlighting along the jawline, the cheekbones, and the brow would be a great boon to mini in my humblest of opinions.

I have to say, I've been waiting for someone to post pics of this mini from more angles. It's a great sculpt, but the sword arm looks a tad awkward to me.

Thanks everyone. As for the face, I always do mine a bit dark like this because I like the idea that a space marine spends a lot of time in the sun so he will have a pretty dark complexion. I am grateful for the advice though and will take it into consideration on the many other bare heads I have to paint to finish this army. I prefer bare heads over helmets.

looks good. As far as space marines having a dark complexion from being in the sun i tend to think the other way. Unless they have been in a protracted campaign they spend a good deal of their time in space. Even when on the battlefield they have their helmets on, and unless its a desert world most Imperial worlds have little sun due to all the pollutants and smog in the atmosphere, especially once a war gets going, even more smoke. So i tend to think of them as being fairly pale.
