Dornian Heresy Imperial Fists of Nurgle

Recommended Posts

So I started making this force a long time ago, and the choice to switch from normal nurgley green to IF yellow was a little after that. But recently, I stumbled upon the Dornian Heresy pdf and I was astounded at how much more awesome it was than current GW fluff. So, this army will now be a Dornian Heresy post-Heresy IF army, and this is right before they switched themselves to being called the 'Black Legion.' Basically, everything is coming alive in this army, as they have been infected by an offshoot of the Obliterator Virus. This was spread to them by a plague monk from a conquered world, and they were forced to swear allegiance to Nurgle over the pantheon of the other chaos gods in order to survive the trip to the Eye of Chaos. This is very WIP at the moment, so please, standby for updates.

BTW, I think I should switch the red trim to black, is this a good idea or not?

Army composition is as follows:

2 DP

1 LR

3 Rhinos

4 Plague Marine squads

1 Dread

2 Oblits

Lets start with the Daemon princes.

Rhino for Plasma Squad 1, this was the first model I made for this army, back when I was 12 years old. This is what started it all all those years ago:

Tell me what you think of this so far! I know its a completely different force than what's normally expected of nurgle, but, I like it.

Very cartoony, but I like it. Guess it's just a matter of personal taste ^^

Lots of weird, gruesome ideas. The Prince that is carried by three assault Marines is one of the coolest ideas I have ever seen for counts-as wings.

What putty are you using to sculpt? I have never seen this red stuff before?

yes this is a bit cartoony , in fact so much so it reminds me of jace and the wheeled warriors!

but this is why i do like them! its refreshing to see a choas force that is a llittle different and isnt just covered in boils and sores.

Do I detect a bit of Deadite influence on this army? ;)

Great sculpting on the conversions, very gribbly stuff, I really like it! :D

Yay, another Dornian Heresy project! I really dig your sculpted chains. If it wouldn't be too much of a hassle, would you mind messaging me a link to a tutorial if one exists?

Too cartooney? The regular space marines are 8 foot giants who wear bright blues and yellows into battle. Reality is for the weak.

Haha, this is absolutely fantastic. As I scrolled down my eyes just got wider and wider. Not to everyones tastes undoubtedly, not enough grimdark aaarrgh, but I love it. The Landraider especially reminds me of the film The Thing. Keep it up.

What an incredible looking army, it may be cartoony but so was 40k back in 2nd edition - to me this perfectly captures the spirit of what chaos is, and to start the army with models of this quality at the age of 12 is outstanding.

My hat is off to you my friend, you have true talent.
