I like them alot, BUT arent wolf guard supposed to have yellow and black markings to be wolf gurad?

State where in the codex it demands a set color.

Very nice shade of blue. Is that periwinkle? Fits the space puppies rather nicely. I really like what you did with the assault cannon's ammo. Mind posting a back shot of it?

Yellow and black are the recommended colors for Wolf Guard from what the Codex shows ... but it's not written in word other than "general color code". Maybe code is basically codified for Space Wolf Wolf Guard to use Yellow and Black?

Personally, I'm loving the red cloak. :P

Even if the codex were to demand a specific colour you would not need to play along. You paint your marines however you want because you paid money for them and the codex did not.

But the black/yellow scheme for wolf guard is rather old. In the second edition codex it is mentioned as being used by the space wolves because that are the colours of Fenris royalty (whatever that is supposed to mean on a planet with many little independent tribes).

Thanks for the kind comments, I normally stick to the codex with things like that but I wanted to denote them as part of Grimnar's company firstly (ok it's not white on black but the transfers are black and I can't do freehand detail that well). I was kinda hoping that the fact they are wearing terminator armour would be enough to show their wolfguard staus :) In hindsight a couple of them have kneepads I could have put the yellow/black markings there but to be perfectly honest I just completely forgot! lol

Back of the AC termie as requested;

I didn't do anything special, just boltgun metal and brazen brass with a 50% black wash. The power armour is done as per the 'Eavy Metal pages in WD358; 50-50 Shadow Grey-Space Wolves Grey basecoat, 25-75 for the first highlight and 100% Space Wolves Grey for the second highlights.

Here is my Wolf Priest I painted a few years back, still able to hold it's own with the new models I think, although the older metal terminators are quite a lot smaller than the new plastics!

really is there a need for curt responses when i asked a simple question?

I never once said that the codex states you must use yellow and black merely asked.

@evil hypnotist.

Still really good work mate, love that wolf priest as well!

By definition your response was curt. You posted in 1 sentence that you liked it, BUT (notice the caps locks of your post) it didn't have the yellow and black. Next time elaborate why you like it and why they need the set colors.

Thanks for the back shot Evil Hypnotist, it looks simple enough to do but still looks great. Woof, those older terminator models sure are... something.

I think if you care to read it again you will realise that it was phrased as a question. I wasnt sure if the OP knew that was the case, some poeple believe it or not dont have a codex, or back ground knowledge. Maybe the OP had a different scheme in mind? Maybe the OP had forgotten?

Questions that we cannot be sure about, so i dont think that my QUESTION (notice the caps again??)was out of line! surely a forum is for questions and suggestions? Obviously the OP didnt have a problem with it so why have you felt the need to argue it?

I dont want to start trouble but i dont see why you have felt the need to.
