Ashdown's Black Templars

On the techmarine I still have yet to place the maltese cross on. I am still practicing my freehand before potentially mess up my model. I also glazed over the highpoints with some lighter tones to make it pop, I might do a few more though, I am still undecided. Working on the neophytes as well. Currently I have two just about ready for basecoating. I would have to say that the scout models are probably some of my favorite looking troops from GW. C&C always welcomed. Thanks for looking.... Looks good mate, looks good. I like your red, very well shaded  Metallics look good too, though you may want to file the mould lines off next time before you paint a metal model.

Looking forward to seeing the Neophytes done ;)

Ludovic

Edit: The Neophytes have cool poses. :tu:

Thanks for the advice. Its my first time working with a metal model and hopefully the last. I am not a big fan of how bad some of the details came out. I think the mold they are using may be over the hill.

the red on techmarine looks very good indeed, i hope the scouts are done as well as him.

Thank you!!

First three neophytes (scouts) base coated and the first bit of color added. Going to glaze a few more layers of light brown on the high points then maybe some dark green to give it a olive drab look. One is already getting a simple green wash, tried something new and didnt like how it came out. Thanks for looking!!

So I am trying to expand my abilities by doing battle damage and give the model a degree of use, however, doing this to black is a pain in the arse. To me so far it is very challanging to give the model a degree of depth... any ways here is the land speeder I am practicing on which is only about 75% done. It looks shiney because I am still using some inks so the varnish is hasnt been dulled yet.

P.S No weapons because I have it all magnetized.

Nice one Brother! I really like your Novices and you LS is looking good. I can see some nice detail painting on the inside of the Speeder, could I get some close-ups please?

Ludovic

Thanks for all the awesome support!!! I will get some more close-ups once I get it finished up. Lately I have been bad about finishing a peice without getting distracted. My most recent distraction was some Grey Knights that were on sale at my LGS.

I decided to magnetize one to see how hard it would be which turned out to be just a little more effort than a normal plastic model. Overall I really like the looks of the models I wanted to keep my options open just in case I decided to build an army latter on.

Are you gonna do him metallic or actually grey?

I am going to do metallics, though I am still figuring out colors etc... I am messing with some model masters (from testors) metallics for the airbrush which I really like. Just trying to find some decent looking battle damage on a model painting in metallics as a reference before I devote myself to them. I was thinking about basing them in a rust color, coating with a layer of hairspray, basing again with a black metallic. Then wetwashing the black metallic in key areas and go from there for battle damage. Need to test it out though on some other models I have laying around to see how well it comes out. Thanks for the props!!

Working on finishing up my two preds. Both are all magnetized and I am almost done with the base coat highlights. I am debating if I want to wrap the entire front of the preds with white to break up all the black.

You may want to "break" the white part with a black or red streak. Would look better IMO.

Ludovic

Yea I feal the same way. I went with this instead and I will add some nice BT icons. I think I may do the same for the rear portion of the pred. Thanks for all the comments!!!!
