New Airbrush + ebay/forums = Crimson Fists army

Well finally took the plunge and bought myself an airbrush i chose a Harder & Steenbeck evolution gotta say i was very impressed with the quality, I've played with the cheap ebay one's and this feels much better to operate and much much easier to clean. As for the painting results well that what this is all about........

Decided to try painting a Marine force and after a bit of thinking I narrowed it down to two choices Dark Angels and Crimson Fists so went and started shopping ended up with a lot of marines, after sorting through what was salvageable (here's a pic of some of em)

I've a got a nicely sized codex marine force and a Dark Angel force for later.

Give or take a few here's what will be in the Crimson Fist army (complete with to much flash there not that blue IRL :-)

maybe with a few additions later the whole lot will be up for sale when there done to make way for the next project (and any commission work I'm doing) this is all getting done in between real life and commission work so updates will be erratic..... but that said I'm a good way into them already here's what's done so far....

Well, what colour of powder would you use? Your bases are near black anyway, and your rhino looks suitably weathered with black, I think it looks good as is.

Excellent job on these btw, colour me jealous.

You should absolutely weather the rhino more. The tracks need some mud/dirt. You might want to consider adding a little battle damage to the tank as well, light scratches and cracks like the ones on your marines would add a lot of character to the rhino.

just got one of those cheapo airbrushes from ebay and imbeginning to think youre right about the brushes - will probably pick up a decent badger or iwata one as i am NOT impressed by the results ive got with the one i got.

great work on these, love the blue and i bet the airbrush saves a lot of time painting (though the cleaning is what annoys me!)

keep up the good work

i've heard an easy way to clean an airbrush is to stick it in an ultrasonic cleaner. Dont think they are too expensive either.

Edit:- oh, and your models look fantastic! heh =) How long did it take to do the blue on a 10man squad?
