Expect regular updates as work continues! My painting will be in three main stages - I want the whole army to be stage-completed before moving onto the next one (i.e. I want my whole army to be painted to tabletop quality before moving onto highlights...) 1) Full detailed coverage to tabletop quality. 2) Highlighting and basing - adding depth and detail. 3) Iconography - adding further detail to give it that characterful feel (advice will eventually be needed!) Quannum Posted July 11, 2011 Author Share Posted July 11, 2011 Glowing eyes are done with a primary layer of Enchanted Blue, then a coat of Ice Blue leaving the very edges of the underlayer showing. Sorry about the quality of the pictures - I'll try to improve them but for now they'll have to do. For interest's sake, the first picture shows the first stage of painting - undercoating the model with The Army Painter's Wolf Grey Primer, since this gives a suitably blue-grey tone (something that I was very keen on...) MalachiOfRuss Posted July 12, 2011 Share Posted July 12, 2011 The way you converted the combi-melta made me laugh a little bit. I know you used the gun with the wolf skull strapped to the top, but where you put the barrel of the meltagun in relation to the wolf skull makes it look (at a glance) like he just "taped" a meltagun to the top of his bolter. Makes it look almost ork-ish! ;) You've got some really nice aggressive poses, though. I'm going to have to remember them when I model up my next squad. I decided that my Wolves would all be born with ash-blonde/grey hair that gets increasingly white as time progresses. When I paint my Long Fangs, they'll be almost pure white! @MalachiofRuss: Thank you too! Indeed, it does look rather orky as that's exactly what I did - though it was not accidental - I liked the idea of the flame of the melta seeming to emerge from the Wolf's mouth...
