In defence of Hawk Turquoise

Hi folks,

Generally speaking I don't use Hawk Turquoise paint often (do you ?), except for energy weapons sometimes, but last week I was overcome with a sudden urge to paint a space marine in Hawk Turquoise. Was it some warp influence? Or the Emperor's will? Whatever.

I don't have a name for the chapter of this little guy. I guess Turquoise Hawks might be OK.

Hawk Turquoise is one of my favourite colours in the GW range, just fairly difficult to use and keep the turquoise looking like it and not having the highlights overwhelming it.

The Model looks good

What was the shading and highlighting of the turquoise as that colour is hard to pull off well?

my long lost (purged) Fangs of the snake space marine chapter from the early 3rd edition used Hawk Turquoise for their helmets, elbow and knee pads.. in fact i was thinking about using it again for my Invaders to mark my Sargent models. I did find that i liked using bolt gun metal for the eye lens (IMO)
