Cain Tiberius Kondrad Posted January 17, 2012 Share Posted January 17, 2012 Wow, looks like you've covered almost all the original legions :o Have to say I am really loving your Pre Heresy Emperors Children and the Iron Warriors. Have you used Metalics on the Iron Warriors, or is that NMM? Its hurting my eyes trying to tell. Either way they are awesome :tu: I like what you have done for Pedro too, especially him holding his helm. I did something similar last year with one of my DC models. Bam-AoD Posted January 18, 2012 Author Share Posted January 18, 2012 Thanks Cain Tiberius Kondrad, They're just normal metallics :) I only use NMM on banners and parchments etc, I'm not a fan of replacing the metallics of the model with NMM (Although the skill it takes people to do it and how good it looks amazes me). I also painted a pre-heresy World Eater years and years ago but he was terrible :( I don't think I've ever posted my Kantor before so I'd say you must have thought of it yourself, Could I get a link to the guy you did? Cain Tiberius Kondrad Posted January 18, 2012 Share Posted January 18, 2012 Sure, on page 4 of my HoH BA Blog. My Blood Angels The DC are about 3/5 to 2/3 down the page with a DC Rhino/Razor. My Knights Templar where metalic using Boltgun metal. I shaded with Badab and highlighted with Mythril, but you could barely tell I'd highlighted the models despite my best efforts :/ And I really detest using Metalic Golds, I find it even harder to highlight that. Bam-AoD Posted January 18, 2012 Author Share Posted January 18, 2012 Thanks mate, I definitly agree on the gold, I hate painting it. When I paint silver, I usually start with watered down boltgun, then wash it with badab black + whichever wash compliments the normal colours, then I highlight chainmail and give it another wash.
