"...And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."

The second Holy Orb is going is going to be sliced down to give it a flat back and stuck on to the shield, which will then be painted white with gold stripes radiating out from it as if the Orb is giving off shafts of light. The completed shield and the sword will then be glued somehow onto Brother Maynard's back as if he's slung them to read from the Book of Armaments. As a final touch I'm going to (attempt to) make some small shield icons from Green Stuff to cover the regular attachments on the purity seals on the leg and shield, to make him look altogether more like a Templar.

A question for the Templars amongst us, should the Aquila on the shield be removed?

:)

We should petition Forgeworld for a resin model of the Chaos Rabbit with the Big, Pointy Teeth ;)

We could get them to do a Tim the Sorceror as well, while we're at it. ;)

Did a mock-up with some blu-tac to get an idea for the placing of the sword and shield.

I may chain the shield to his belt, at the moment it's just hanging there with no visible means of support.

That sounds like it would look really good.

The current sword placement works well.

Love it! Great pose, there's a lot there but it doesn't come across as too busy. The only thing I'd maybe suggest is using GS to make the beams of light emanating out on the shield rather than just painting them on, fairly simple to do and might tie the orb design in better?

Hmmmmm awesome model that needs some awesome quotes. Slight paraphrased but it made me laugh while righting and got a few odd looks from my work mates lol

[Holding the Holy Orb of Antioch]

Marshal: How does it... um... how does it work?

Sword Brethrin: I know not, my liege.

Marshal: Consult the Book of Armaments.

Brother Maynard: Armaments, chapter two, verses nine through twenty-one.

Servitor: [reading] And Saint Attila raised the orb up on high, saying, "O Emperor, bless this thy orb, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the Emperor did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths, and carp and anchovies, and Jokaeros and breakfast cereals, and fruit-bats and large chu...

Brother Maynard: Skip a bit, Brother...

Servitor: And the Emperor spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Orb of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in thy sight, shall fail their armour save and snuff it.

Brother Maynard: Amen.

All: Amen.

Marshal: Right. One... two... five.

Sword Brethrin: Three, sir.

Marshal: Three.
