Wolves of Cthonia

This my WiP log for my Wolves of Cthonia - a wolf-wing chaos army. I plan on finishing my Lord, and 3 Squads of Chaos Temrinators.

First post will be my base-coated chaos lord this weekend, and hopefully the first of my teminator squads.

Death to the False Empreor!

I am gonna do him up pretty clean, then apply weathering and battle-damage. I just wanted tot test some colours - I was thinking off Sons-of-Horus, with black trim, or perhaps a rusted metal trim.

This is just my progress so far - another WiP shot. I will try and finish him tonight.

Ironic... I was kicking around the idea of a Black Legion warband that had returned to it's sea-green roots myself, just a few weeks ago. Looks great so far, man!

You kicked around the idea because I had told you that I was kicking around the idea. ;)

Thanks for all the wonderful comments - I am just returning to the hobby after a 2 year hiatus. When I left the boards NMM was all the rage - now this more dirty and grimy look is in and I like it! This model is my first shot at the dirty, grimy, more realistic look a seasoned campaigner should have.

My whole idea was I wanted a Lord who's pride in his legion outweighed his shame at the loss dealt the Legion on Terra - so he split from the Black-Legion with other Sons of Horus, to wage war eternal in homage to their father Horus. There will be alot of adapted cataprachtii style work on this army, and alot of throw-backs to legion days - with a delightfully chaotic and brtual twist. The sea-green is a mixture of hawk-turquoise, deathworld green, and bleach bone added to highlight - ratios arent excat - usually alot more green than turquoise.

Heres the progress so far - I got another couple hours in painting after PT last night. Still a long way from complete but coing along nicely - again forgive the photos they were taken with an iPhone -
