I'm loving the purple and blue! The freehand on the termi pad came out good, but the paint looks a bit thick. If you thin your paint a bit and do multiple layers it will look great. If you are up to it, try lightly sanding it and doing some more thin layers.

Lovely work on the Brute, the pruple and blue work really well for a Slaaneshi colour scheme.

Good idea with the Dryad heads too! They look very fiiting and i'm suprised I haven't seen it done before actually.

Might have to 'borrow' your idea. :P

I agree with Dez regarding the freehand. Did you paint the bone colour straight over the blue? Maybe try either building it up in really thin coats or start with a darker colour and work your way up.

I'm sure that the more you do the more and more your results will improve.

Best of luck with the rest of your CoC pledge,

Mike.

Did you have something in particular in mind?

Though the Brute has a lot of armour plating there isn't actually that much space for freehands what with the trim on the armour.

The tops of his shoulders and his right arm seem like the best places, but I wouldn't say the rest of the plates are ideal.

Either way, I look forward to seeing what you go with .

Hello again guys!

13th November - update 3

Here's the 3rd update for my Call of Chaos; a 'count-as' heavy flamer and power fist terminator and a sneak peek at my currently P.I.P Lord. Comments and criticisms much appreciated!

And here's my currently armless lord

Looking good so far and that face is creepy, in a good way.

My only critique is that your shoulderpad symbols appear to have been painted using thick layers, which breaks up the even surface.

I suggest that you thin your paint slightly and/or put down a thin coat of light brown underneath.

Looking quite good indeed!

Pulling off such a coluorful scheme is always tricky, so good job!

But I have to agree with what Brother Nihm said:

You should thin your paints a bit more, especially the whites. You can always achieve a nice white coverage by first painting a base layer of light brown or yellow.

I'm sure that with more practice your freehands will improve. They already look good, just a tad thick thats all.

I love your idea for chapter insignia! Very much looks the part and it's nice that it incorporates the colours of your army.

How will you be applying it to the models?

I imagine it would be difficult and time consuming to freehand.

Keep up the good work buddy.

Mike.
