Order of the Shining Dawn(Jacobus wip 31.5.2013)

I think it's time to start a blog for my sisters project.
The idea is to redo all my sisters(or do in case of most of them) in a new theme.

So I present: ORDER OF THE SHINING DAWN

First my two scheme test sisters. Both are of veteran status so they feature white details on their robes and weapons as well as an iron halo behind their heads(the orders symbol representing a rising sun).

My immolator first seen in my ETL-topic

And a "rhino conversion set" for the immolator(sorry the hull itself is really dusty)

Next on the list is a conversion set to make the rhinolator work as an exorsist if needed and heavy bolter and -flamer turrets. I'll probably do six of these modular tanks(so yes, I can slap my opponent with 6 exos at 2000p+ if want to be a dick)
The first one will get some magnets as I get my order and it still needs a coat of varnish.

Hope this blog will help me motivate myself to use less of my free time sitting on my ass and actually do something constructive.

And also hope you enjoy my work.

EDIT: forgot some items from my to-do list

Love the tank but have to say the ladies themselves look a little dull in comparisson. I wonder if this is purely because the photos make them look darker than they really are? Maybe a little more highlighting just to make them pop a little?

As they are only test models, I suspect (especially seeing your tank) that following models will look fantastic.

Yes the pictures are really dark. The robes actually has (to my standard) awesome highlights but I do think the metals are too dark and gets lost on the black in everything but the brightest light. I think I'll try to do a new test model with lighter metals.

It's refreshing to see some Sisters make an appearance on the B&C. The Immolator is top-notch stuff, as is the sister with the helm. My one spot of critique would be that the other sister with the jumppack needs eyes. With your excellent standard of painting, it's a bit jarring to see a mini that looks somewhat incomplete.

Keep on keeping on, man. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you got up your sleeve.

Thanks for the comments and even more for the critique.

It's great to hear that people enjoy my work and it does give a nice boost for motivation.

The eyes are something I've never been good at painting but on the other hand, I'm surprised of how much better I've become at panting every time I put my brush down. So maybe it's time to learn the art of eye painting.

ETL II is here!

Time to pick up my bolter brush.

Sadly due to my old life-sucking job and my new(great) job keeping me busy and a few 2.ed projects, this is the first post in almost six months.

Sorry for the crappy mobile pic

In this mess of flagellants is the basis of my soon to be Uriah Jacobus. He'll be wielding a banner in one hand and a bolt pistol in the other. Completed with some GS details and a necromunda bounty hunters back pack featuring a shotgun and a chainsword to keep things WYSIWYG.

Keep your thumbs up. The order is not dead I'm just busy lazy.

W.i.p pre-GS pics.

Next I'll clean him up from moldlines etc. and start adding some GS detailing to make him look less like a hobo.

Is that an Ork Prospector backpack?

No it's from a necrounda bounty hunter. The one with a space-wolfy hair and bolt pistol and bolter.

Got some stuff done on the model but I'll be dong some more before it's worth taking new pics.
