Obliterator's Achievements

  1. A very promissing start to what hopefully become a fully painted Space Marine army, Brother Argos. Under 3 hours for a marine ain't bad at all... [/jealous ] Still, it would've been nice if you finished those Salamanders too, mind you I know how you feel about painting green, I assembled and primed my Salamanders, and got about halfway of the stuff between 80-100% done, but I'm hardly continuing them any more. I find that switching between armies helps to break up the monotony that you get easily when painting a Marine chapter, so they will get finished somewhere in the near future.
  2. Chaos Marines were all loyalists once. During the Heresy, chapters were divided because some chose to follow the Warmaster, and some stuck it out with the Emperor (Flight of the Eisenstein comes to mind). Iagon felt betrayed by his kin, Tsu'gan's ascendance into 1st Company made him feel isolated, and he wanted revenge. The Dragon Warriors were Salamanders once, so it's almost logical that Iagon seeks to join that warband. I kinda liked that 'even angels can fall' moment, although I must admit it shocked me a bit, as I thought he was saying farewell because he was going for a last stand kinda thing. I'm not sure marines undergo hypno-therapy for that sort of behaviour. In Ian Watson's Space Marine you see that the 3 different characters are motivated to work together, and punished if they don't, but I don't remember them being hypnotised so they all play nice. Then again, it has been a while and I'm getting old, so don't quote me on that :)
  3. #45: somebody will load up the Ultramarine medic in a siege gun and fire it just so said medic can keep up with the Dark Angel assault marine. #46: said siege gun will then jam. Both happened in our game yesterday :P
  4. Truly outstanding work! I must say I had some doubts about combining white and gold, but one can't argue with such splendid marines. Great conversions, flawless paintjob, and stunning detail. Can't wait to see the Rhino finished :P Only one remark I could make is that the shield on top of the Rhino looks kinda odd, maybe because most of the times the bottom of the shield points towards the tip of the sword, and not the other way around. But if you got a good reason for displaying it this way, consider my remark a sign of envy ;)
  5. I agree, the yellow is really nice! Good job! One minor detail: Imperial Fists veterans don't usually wear white helmets, but a red stripe on a yellow helmet. But since my veterans also have white helmets (and look stunning with them) I'll ignore that and just enjoy the sweet minis :P
  6. Order of the Rose Raven: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/Obliterator/Inquisition/IMG_0225.jpg For better pics of the individual units, background, etc. : project thread
  7. Excellent post, Brother :tu: A great way of uniting Grey Knights with their heraldry, while still keeping it unique. I couldn't stop thinking about the terminator heraldry, and how they all are different. Suppose you have two squads of terminators, then you would need a way to keep them apart. Maybe you could indeed keep the individuality of the fields, to represent them from coming from different squads, but you take one charge to unite a squad. This could be a small charge somewhere in a corner of the shield or something, or a big charge in the centre (disregarding the history of the heraldry somewhat  )

  9. Congrats Alpha! :D
  10. A new Insignum Astartes
  11. Don't! The black is much too harsh on the yellow, I tried it, and stripped it immediately afterwards! Try some brown tint for darklining, like thinned down Snakebite Leather.
  12. So, in a real Easter spirit you decided to chop of the bunny's ears, huh? :) Very nice tutorial, Nihm :D ...
