Holy sweet Father of the Night. You're back. I never thought this day would come. Glad to see you at it again! I'm am quite liking the non-Chaos noise marines you've done. As usual, your conversions are spot on. Cypher looks great. I really like the ragged, weathered, aged look his gear has, and the archaic weapons are a nice touch. -
You're going to force me to do some Inq28 here soon... Your models just have so much character and are so unique! The reworked sword is gorgeous, the wing accent on the basket hilt is a jaw dropping little touch that seems so small but adds so much to the model.

No worries man, and like I said, I really wasn't trying to lambaste you or pick apart your entire tutorial, it's just VERY aesthetically different from pretty much all takes on Thunder Armor I've ever seen. You're right in saying that all suits of Thunder Armor were fairly unique to the wearer, but that's kinda like saying that all suits of power armor are unique to the wearer; no two are ever alike. :cuss Cheers for the reply, it's always nice to gain insight into why something was done the way it was. As to the chainmail, granted it would be fairly easy to modify the tutorial to do it, but not actually what I was attempting to say, sorry. I was more surprised that you didn't even have any on the model, it being such a hallmark feature of this particular type of armor.

Interesting take on the Mk.I, but I have to say I'm not a huge fan. Stylistically, it really differs from what most representations of Mk.I looks like. As you say, creative license was taken, although I think some of your research sources may be a bit off. From what I understand, early Mk.I wasn't fully powered; like you stated, it was only the torso that had any sort of power source. Later on during Unification, however, the whole suit was powered (could be wrong, though). Your version lack some of the more distinctive features that really made Thunder Armor stand out, which is of course chain mail, and armor on the upper legs. In addition, a Mk.I cuirass was very similar in form to the Mk.IV. I really am sorry if it seems like I'm picking everything apart. As always, the quality of your work is very nice, but I'd really actually like to see you re-do this one, as Mk.I is one of my favorite styles of power armor. Thanks again for your tutorials, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

I'll vote for Cataphractii after you do Mk.III, which is the one I'm really looking forward to seeing. Thanks for these, they're awesome, and I hope to be able to replicate your amazing results. Whatever you do next, I'll sure it'll make me jealous. ;)

These guys are awesome. They make the Sons of Sanguinius look badass. I'd cut down the magazine well (where the drum magazine sits) for your combi-melta conversion, the magazine sits higher up, more towards the foregrip of the weapon. It sits far too low at the moment, the feed lip on that thing has to be really long! It's strictly my preference, though. Maybe just below the magazine release? Cheers!

While the conversion work done on the model is well executed, and the paintwork is spectacular, I have to admit that I'm not a fan. The pauldrons are far too large. They'd limit Darius's range of motion, as well as his field of view. I do like the concept behind them, however; as a means of displaying personal heraldry and battle honors, they work well. The shield. Waaaay too large. Darius would physically not be able to swing a weapon around it. He'd be limited to hiding behind, jabbing with his relic blade. I've also seen the Nurgle demon prince's sword use in a conversion on a normal-sized marine, and it's simply too large. Even though your model appears to be at least somewhat true-scaled (correct me if I'm wrong), it's still outlandishly, cartoonishly huge. Again, these all come down to taste. I'm not saying your conversion work is bad, or your painting; quite the opposite, in fact! It's all very well done. But I just don't like the overall model here. That said, I'm really looking forward to seeing what else you have in store, because if it's all done to same standard here, it'll be spectacular. EDIT: Spelling. Missed an "o" in "too".

Sure thing, I just noticed something about it just seemed... wonky, heh. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Kron model; it's always nice to see old characters (especially those with a rich background like this one) getting revamped and brought back to speed.
