It's a nice marine and ties in well with Armageddon though the Ork pose doesnt looks as good as the one on Bayard's Revenge Not sure this and the other model/book are enough to tempt me back again having stopped a couple of years ago. I might have considered it if I was able to get these and also buy the Eldar one from the last year as I do like that but wasnt going to get a subscription for it alone.

The nostalgia here is amazing! I am getting proper 90s/00's hobby vibes here and can feel the itch to go make something A real blast from the past would be them including a guide for (updated...? not sure such a classic needs it!) cacti with red spikes!

Sunday in the hobby.... I started painting some of the orks I have primed. I also did a few block bits on the test BA assault intercessor I managed to resist buying a baneblade for now (in part due to stock issues!... and ideally I need some other bits for my guard force first...) ...I might have bought a Stompa...

I'm a bit torn. I want the exodites. I really dont care much for the beast snaggas. I dont mind the squig hogs as much but I have boyz coming out of my ears as it is and the new multipart kit will make that worse I put down for a preorder on this but I may take my name off. £98 is on the high side for something I am a bit 'meh' over for most of the contents. I would rather get the new terrain, finally get a baneblade or a combat patrol. Or just save that money to be honest.

I use the GW sub assembly holder for some things with a small dab of normal plastic glue to stick the part as needed. Or I just use a cut off piece of sprue for bigger/less fiddly bits - again with pastic glue usually. Sometimes I'll use a paperclip with a drilled hole I have teh GW assembly stand (I dont think they sell any more on their site) that has arms with soft grips on thr end to hold things too and a slot for the painting handle to sit in - makes holding things in place a lot easier

The new boyz are lovely. I am in the same boat as many, I dont need more boyz but I will definately be getting some and I fell that they will probably fit alongside the older models quite happily. What I would love for them to do is an equivalent ork upgrade kit like the various marine chapters and Cadians have to give some gubbins - lots of back mounted shootas for older collections (!), various glyphs etc and maybe a few more of those small squigs for bases etc.

Having not picked up the kill team starter set as I have the original deathguard start collecting but missing the plagues caster I would genuinely consider picking this up to get that model plus the marines in this one.

Glad I didnt see that (if they actually had stock of anything I wanted) I might have ended up with a lot more nids and orks

since my last update in the hobby... I have built: 20 boyz 5 terminators 5 assault intercessors I am also mid way through 3 blade guard I've primed 10 or the orks, plus an already built warboss in mega armour - these will be for me to remind myself how I paint orks ready for the rest of armageddon When I picked up Armageddon I tripped and picked up some colour forge sprays so have tested those on the terminators and Assault intercessors - really nice colour and coverage though I missed a few recesses. What is most annoying is in my excitement/haste I forgot about the helmet colours for BA being different so these are currently red too/glued so I will have a fun time trying to repaint them without messing up the base coat on the rest of the model. The plan is a 500 ish point BA force using models I already have as a starting point. Captain (Armageddon) Terminators (Leviathan) Assault Intercessors (Indomitus) Blade Guard (Indomitus) I'm tempted to swap the captain out for the store anniversary captain with powerfist but it also appeals to me that this force is a bit of everything various 'big' boxes (trying to decide what to include from Dark imperium later out of what I have unbuilt)

This is how I ended up with a Daemon army - having it viable in two systems was a great justification. As someone who hasnt dabbled in custodes in any version I really do like the 30k offerings and scaling much more than the older 40k versions. I need to keep repeating the mantra "i dont need another army/project"

Similar. The extra Boyz/Gretchin / Marines are a bonus I can happily use between my DA and the BA force I am now starting. The only model there I am probably a bit less enthisatic about a double of of is the weirdboy - it is a bit too 'specific'. But.. it makes a great painting project As these are the standard sets so I may wait a bit for the dust to settle on what I have got before I add more to it.

FP online (not matched in store) have started doing some issues at £4.99 in stock - Jakhals and GSC neophites issues included in this if anyone is wanting to bulk out some troops.

They're ok, not really more to say. I will be waiting for updated Black Knights and/or the Ravenwing option/upgrades for these. I may end up with some at some point. I already have 2x the ETB versions so no rush for more
