  1. Old geezer alert. I started out my 40k journey with the 2nd ed starter set, it's been a long *cough*30+*cough* years!
  2. Maybe his Ld is 1+ because he literally doesn't have a head and therefore has no idea what's going on around him............
  3. Shouldn't Aeldari be all lithe and graceful, even the Drukhari? This looks like she has a glandular issue and is all puffy. Not at all what I picture Eldar to look like at all. Much to thicc, and that face......
  4. When I had it it was Failcast, can't remember if it did have a metal one before hand. Her sword was a miscast stump, but I ran her as my Archon as I liked the sculpt better.
  5. Even if they didn't give us the Helbrute I think a good argument could be made for the Forgefiend at least, it would be something and as we're allowed to take Maulerfiends anyway I don't see it being too egregious.
  6. It's a full standalone Codex.
  7. Fulgrim did get cheaper though! So it's not all bad news
  8. All I got from the pre-order week was the dice and Lucius. I've now pre-ordered the Combat Patrol as, through discounters, I'm basically only paying for the FB which I wanted anyway and then bag a second LE and more Infractors for "free".
  9. I think that's the main issue with EC termies, the tax of needing to bring the LR (unless you want to deep strike) and the fact that you can't take 10 of them. I do have a hankering yo try them out myself as I think along the same lines that you do that they've just been kind of dismissed but may actually have a specific place designed in our line up that nothing else can fill.
  10. I'd love it if the Lord Exultant could go with the Noise Marines as it seems like Lethal Hits on them would be disgusting rather than the frankly appalling Sustained 1 from the Kakophonist. I just don't see a valid reason to take the LK at all. Agree with Sume though, I'd rather have the ranged options on the Noise Marine champion as if I get my unit charged then I've messed up so a few power sword attacks aren't really going to get me out of that.
  11. Still the best editor in chief that White Dwarf ever had. He and that magazine were a big part of my childhood and the hobby that I still do to this day 30+ years later. RIP Fat Bloke, you are and were an inspiration to many!
  12. The thing for Flawless Blades is that you need to get them into combat. If they're walking across the table, even though they're fast, losing even one on the way into combat massively eats into their lethality and makes it harder for you to not lose another model in combat if you do fail to kill something. The Land Raider does cover one of the objective weaknesses of the army in killing high toughness stuff, but yes, you'll also be sending it directly at the enemy to discharge the Blades if you take them (and let's face it, you're likely going to want to take them).
  13. Is this the first time we've seen what looks like Power Sandals for 40k?
  14. The most maddening thing for me (not that I really want to field the model) is that we only get the Maulerfiend and not the Forgefiend. I don't know how they've managed to justify selling a kit to an army that can only use one build from it, I don't think that exists anywhere else in the entirety of Warhammer (at least off the top of my head). Yes, they can cut all the vehicles they want, but only being able to use half a kit (at least with other dual kits you're making the choice about what you're building) I find really baffling.
  15. Would it have killed them to let us at least have a Helbrute? Sonic dreads are very cool, yes they'd have to make a kit for it. Maybe this will just be the stop-gap until 11th ed and a second wave like the WE are waiting for to get the options you'd expect. It make no sense that you can use the Rhino chassis but not Predators...
