I guess your point in listing random worlds was to point out examples of the different planet classifications? I'm not sure about your last statement - there are plenty of famous examples, you're right. But can you definitely say that they're famous because they're different? Or is that just speculation? -B

There's no reason to think there aren't both.... This isn't Star Wars, most planets in 40k have more than one type of biome. Actually they blatantly don't. 40k is one of the worst examples of 'all worlds have one type' in fiction. At least if you go by the various charts in various Codexes and rulebooks. -Ss

I think it's a badly worded sentence. It's well known that the Codex can be and is added to as new situations are encountered, but the wording of the sentence suggests that he wrote a significant portion of it. Which is nonsense of course. At best he'd have wrote a tiny portion. -B

Although the Lance batteries on Nova class escorts do make other Imperial organisations nervous (from the Nova class entry in Armada): "As such, the Nova remains rare in most Space Marine fleets, a trend the Imperial Navy, the Inquisition and other institutions perpetually concerned by the balance of power would dearly love to see continue." -B

The Assault Marine in Codex Ultramarines has a black marking too. -B

similar thing for the White Consuls. They use blue helmets for Veterans according to the 2nd Ed Codex. -B

Codex Ultramarines, 2nd Ed, 1995(?) "The Black Consuls are well known for being the least compromising of all Chapters. Their stern and inflexible approach makes them worthy inheritors of Guilliman's legacy." There's a picture of a painted member of the Chapter too. He has black armour with yellow shoulder trims and chest eagle. There's a standard Tactical marking on the right pad (6th squad) and the Chapter symbol is a bird's head. I think it's an eagle, but I'm not good at birds. His boltgun casing is red and there's a yellow eagle on the bolter. He also has a winged skull honour marking on his left greave. There's also a skull on his forehead, but he doesn't have a red helmet indicating a sergeant so this is likely another form of battle honour other than the Iron Skull. His eyes are red. -B

I know exactly what you mean. Sicarius is a big style Ventris rip-off. At least I assume Ventris came first. It could hardly be more blatant, really. -B
