  1. Thanks! Wasn't sure what to call the scrolls on a worshiper of Nurgle. Perhaps it should be the obvious name impurity seals.
  2. Plague caster done. Tried to hide the syringes by drawing attention to those scrolls instead while also just painting them metallic so they dont stand out much. Overall i'm happy with how he turned out. Photos are like semi-crap as it's damn tricky taking good pics at night with just my phone and poor light conditions. Thanks for looking. Cheers!
  3. Yes, but lacking proper bits and having not so great sculpting skills, i thought it wouldn't be worth it. But i agree it would have been better without.
  4. Haha, so basically i've built a whole new team. Well, i had the parts, so why not. I think the icon bearer turned out quite cool considering apart from the brass rod, everything was just spare bits in the Plague marine box.
  5. Sorry for the crappy pic, didn't bother to try and set up some proper light. I came to the conclusion that i didn't like the champion that came with the kill team starter, so went ahead and bought a box of Plague Marines. While i was at the store, i thought that the surgeon guy would make a great Plague caster as well. So, just some minor convertion and bit swaps, but this is much more to my liking
  6. Thanks mate, I love Blanche! I think in general i have a sort of painterly style mixed with classic mini painting tricks like edge lighting etc. Anyway...second marine finished. I painted his head more than once and ended up with this purple-ish version. I'm not in love with it, but guess it's good enough and more paint will start to clutter up details anyway. Overall i'm happy with how he turned out. Going to go back on the first guy and change his shoulder pads to match this one with this rust/metal trims. Thanks for looking!
  7. Started with second marine. Doing him a bit darker, and i like it so will go forward with the rest the same way. Lots of stuff yet to be painted, metallics just got a base coat and so on. Having the head glued proved challenging. For the most part i couldn't tell what most stuff on his head was supposed to be either Some sort of pus i guess...
  8. Thanks mate! I have no idea really to be honest. I painted the white guys like 12-15-ish years ago. Just put them in there as a nod to the past when i last hung around here at the bolter&chainsword.
  9. Hi everybody! It's been like over a decade since i was a frequent poster here. Glad to find out my account was still around. Thanks for not deleting it! So, short story, i kind of had fallout with everything Games Workshop and got into other games like Infinity and above all a game called Bushido by GCT Studios. Anyway, one of my sons, whom now have turned 13, wanted to give miniature gaming a go and had his sights set on 40k. So i guess i'm back! We decided kill team is a proper size to start with. He opted for the Space Marines and left me with the Plague Marines... I'm shooting for a sort of rusty and worn look. Was really fun painting this guy. The one posted here is done, but i have 6 guys left to paint... And i also bought a box of ork kommandos + i have such an itch to get a kill team of Desert Eagles, so i will probably end up buying a team of space marines for myself too. I figurered the wip section makes sense, otherwise a moderator can move this thread to the kill team section. My son is doing Imperial fists and i also got him the new raveners box btw. I really like the new scale even if it means all my old minis are junk now. For fun i attached some of my Desert Eagles that i had collecting dust in a box. Maybe a blast from the past for someone with good memory. Hope you like them. Cheers! /Martin
  10. You've designed and hand cut all those trims? Wow, thats insane! Bravo! The tanks looks awsome.
  11. Mate, those gems/lenses look spectacular! The dread is really neat and good looking too. I would consider painting the barrels of the ac black or metallic over the current white, but it isn't the end of the world if you keep it the way it is. This is a really interesting thread to follow...specially since i'm also a sucker for anything forge world does.
  12. No need to blush, this is brilliant suff. Simple and clean, yet really facinating and intriguing. I love it. I have ordered that librarian myself from forge world. Now that i've seen him in black i think i have to paint him up that way myself. There just is something very Darth Vader over Dragomir. :tu: Alongside the running missile marine, he's my favourite... But i'm not truly sold on his force weapon. I know the original one looks a bit tiny, so i understand why you'd want to replace it. But i think the main issue i have with yours is the colour. Looks too woody and not futuristic enough for my tase. I'd give it a metallic colour, or even black to match the rest of the mini, perhaps with the runes or whaterver it is picked out with a bright blue. Just a thought.
  13. Just thought i'd post mine here as well. The dread has been finished for a while, but i just recently took some good pictures of it. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p35/tjuven52/dread1.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p35/tjuven52/dread3.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p35/tjuven52/dread4.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p35/tjuven52/dread5.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p35/tjuven52/dread2.jpg Cheers!
  14. I belive this is about the coolest thing i've seen for a while. Your own casts, awsome! I like the name, it has a nice ring to it.
