Arkaniss's Achievements

  1. The other side to this is that some people are paying for it and it's not being worked on. At least t's still functioning and as already mentioned it's the community which supplies all the data and keep that up to date.
  2. I think peeps are way too hung up on the helmet being in several pieces. It certainly can still be sealed when you factor in the wizardry of future technology. Whether it's such a good idea to introduce multiple areas of potential failure is another question While I enjoyed watching it but I do think as others have mentioned that the desired impact has been lessened by this not being the first suiting up montage we've all seen. Maybe the first official one, sure, but still. As for the over-hyping some people have commented on, that's just how it is - it's normal for GW to hype things up and generate interest. You'll never get a tweet from GW saying "Hey we've got a video coming out you guys can watch if you want. I guess. It's alright I suppose, no need to take time out of your day if you're busy."
  3. They look great as always! So am I reading this right? You have no more IG kits to assemble?!
  4. Been a while since I checked in! New models and a batrep too! :tu: The 'thropes look nice, I've not seen the new plastic model before! Didn't take long either so I bet you're pleased with that. The Tervigon looks stunning - such a large centrepiece model in your unique scheme really pops I'm really looking forward to seeing the Tyrannofex done next. It does seem like it's needed to shore up your army lists too.
  5. Khufu looks grand and I like the fluff snippet! :tu: I've mentioned it before but I'm really liking the red being introduced onto character models. What's next? You're making amazing progress so maybe you can keep the work rate up :)
  6. The Infernal Master looks wonderful! It's a great model and you've done him proud :tu: I agree with Paladin the warp flame blue is lovely and I particularly like the couple of red scarabs that was a good choice! I'm really liking it as an accent to your scheme, the book really benefits for it on the disc. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the model :)
  7. Great battle report! Lovely to see all those painted models on the table :tu: An all melee army always has the fickle dice Gods to battle against - some choice rolling for advances really helped you out here. With so many Daemons closing in I think most armies would have struggled. Well a +1S aura would help the Daemonettes out a lot (if they get into combat...) but I would like to see you start on the Chariots! Chariots are always fun models to see and I imagine it's pretty fast too so will be a good addition.
  8. Ooh! Magnus! Will be interesting to see how you magnetise him. I expect he'll need it if you have any hope to transport him in one piece... I've not seen the model in person but I hear he's quite large!
  9. That's a wonderful picture It's such a striking and unusual scheme for 'nids and it really works and even more so with this amount of models. A shame about that missing piece maybe no one will will notice a greenstuff replacement? I'm not very familiar with the part you're talking about so I don't know how difficult it is to do
  10. That's a great army shot! It must feel very satisfying to see them all lined up :tu: Great work on the eyes and teeth too it really does make a difference so was worth the effort :D Have you decided what to assemble next?
  11. Lovely! The extra gubbins you've added help give it some more character and what a family photo
  12. Surprised I haven't seen it referred to as a series of tubes It's definitely maze-like and very few (or maybe even no..?) people know all the routes. As to it's various destinations that is unknown as GW will never give us a Tube Map - so you never know where a Webway gate may crop up in the fluff.
  13. Well! This is a surprise! I never thought that the Inquisition would get anything. I'll be cautiously awaiting more info!
  14. Let's not go down that rabbit hole it will throw this completely off track I keep seeing posts saying that 3D printing will minimally effect GW for the foreseeable future and that is a fairly safe assumption*. It is, however, very unproductive to the thread which is talking about how it may impact GW. There is no set time scale here - the thread isn't mentioning a specific point in the future. The theoretical end point I talked about of a 3D printer being as common as a home PC doesn't herald the death of GW, just the death of GW as we know it right now. I believe that one of the best ways they could adapt is to make use of 3D printing themselves - it just makes sense to me that GW gets onboard (at some point). I managed to fit in a 40K meetup over the weekend and a friend unveiled their new army, complete with 3rd party printed symbols on the shoulders. This got me thinking about the 3rd party store scene. It's an industry that has developed to supply people with Chapter/Legion specific items (helmets, vehicle doors, dreadnought parts and more) and that has flourished as GW don't offer much in that regard. The sheer quantity of bitz available means GW can't compete with the variety... but if GW could 3D print them themselves and offer the official versions...? Would people still buy 3rd party then? If you could get the same thing from GW for the same price? *depending on the interpretation of 'foreseeable future'
  15. He looks good! That's a nice pose :tu: I assume you're going to work on the rest of the Strike Squad before painting?
