One of the few bonuses for be a Divergent Chapter... burn the codex and Crusade as your visions guide you. As much as we are a Chapter apart, the lore supports the concept of whole Crusades showing support for others by adopting cool concepts. Declates Crusade comes to mind, Many Black Templar painted their left hands red, and Crimson Fists painted a Templar Cross onto their right knee as a symbol of solidarity. Gore slicked pyramids... necron or thousand sons? Only two groups are known for pyramids, one is dust and the other has some gore. So long as we get something back for be labeled Divergent.

Here is my thematic list. Though I truly want to run the Emperor's Champion with all my lists, I will on occasion swap him with the Judiciar or just 'call' my Judiciar the champ of this battle. I just enjoy the fights first of the Judiciar and the types of units he can lead. Also of note, I run my Invictor Warsuit like a 'penitent engine' for the Templar. Modifying the space marine into scout armor with bare arms to keep with the theme. Much like you Mordekiem, I have just begun playing from older versions. I found an easy and free army builder (newrecruit) that so far has stayed pretty current with the updates. Allows me to plug and play then build an army with what I have and helps me know what I need to buy/build to get rolling again. There is a caveat that with the new 'primaris' marines a lot of our older troops are now called 'legends' and not eligible for tournament play. My local group has a mix of those who play tournament legal only and those who don't care so I have no problem learning the game again. Good luck, have fun, and keep us posted on how you are doing.

I remember at least three instances in which the Templar found themselves labeled inappropriately: The Crusade of the Ophidium Gulf, the Wars of Apostasy (closely followed by the Vandire Crusade), and the War of the Beast when the Imperial Fist 2nd founding chapters reformed the Legion in defense of Terra. Another point to mention is the continued strife between Templars and Inquisitors or others for not adhering to the Codex as stringently as other chapters.

You know your a Black Templar when... You get stuck in the warp for a few years..and one of the first things you look at is this thread. See that you already posted to it, and felt the power of the Emperor flow through your veins knowing that you fulfilled the challenge of your original post, just before the store went out of business. When you have found twenty years worth of purchases tucked away in storage..find a local game shop who will give you decent credit for the stuff you will likely never assemble. Then take all that credit and do nothing with it as you wait for the moment new Templar bits appear...deeming all else less worthy of precious credits. Knowing my luck the store will go out of business before I can cash the credits in..and that's okay. P.S. - I found four more tubs of stuff to trade in and will see what the shop has for us this week.

I must say that these are impressive.. great job. The paint job looks like they just crawled out of the 'Cage'.

When you keep pulling out plastic bags filled with unpainted terminators...and find yourself disappointed that you only have five unpainted troops legal for an assualt unit and twenty unpainted shooty termies. Then make the decision that its okay to paint shooty termies because that will allow you to pledge and paint over 1,000 points.

Never looked in here before... hard to beleive I hadn't posted my champs yet.. two painted one was a work in progress, I will have to see what happened to him.. I think he went back to a sword brethern squad. I have converted my banners to the Declates crusade since this pic.. I will have to restage and post a more current photo.
