  1. It also doesn't help that issue when certain items get determined to be the best unit to spam further inflating demand.
  2. Apparently this is a thing... Yay! Pox Walkers...
  3. 18 wounds... bleech! 12 would have been bad enough with the standard nurgle and death guard defenses. Strikes do seem to be one of our best options in this fight... Trying to recall if combat squads count against half the army in reserves rule for match play...
  4. I'll have to give that a try. I've got a bunch of Black Shield heads from my Death Watch army left over.
  5. I'm curious to see their internal play-testing notes. With the Index, GK Termies were running 44 a piece (220). Vanilla Termies were 48 pts (224). I want to see what warrants the increase of 4 pts base. I'm assuming its the Psyker Tax, but with the 8 pt plummet of a Power Fist's cost it should have balanced out. As much as I like this edition, so much stuff feels randomly slapped together.
  6. I think the real sting here is that we gained Ob Sec for them, but then GW dropped it that everyone else was getting it.
  7. It can be, if there is too much skew in the probabilities. It really comes down to what you are trying to papercut. Without a reroll, statistically you are going to hit about 2/3 of the time on 3+. SO if there 120 shots, then about 80 should hit. The skew on that is vs toughness. Against Eldar, IG dudes and other humans that's about 53 wounds. With Bog standard marines and other T:4; roughly 1/2 should wound. If you are shooting a Razorback or anything else T:5 -7 range, then that's about 27 wounds. On a Landraider, Knights, or other bigguns; that drops to about 13 wounds. Then come saves. With that many shots going at a unit, you will probably wipe them out. Anything T:3 with a 5+ will probably fail around 35 saves. Sisters of Battle would fair the best with the 3+ save failing about 18. T:4 and a 3+, statistically will fail about 13 saves. In the case of a 10 man unit of Primaris marines, there should be 4 of them still up. For Terminator types, the 2+ makes it math out to about 7 wounds. So if running 10 man units of terminators, that extra HP really does keep you in there. Our Paladins fair even better. Orks should fail about 33 saves. For the 5+ to wound crowd, that's about 9 wounds if you have a 3+ save. So you can pop a rhino or razorback with this and a little luck, but you will kill a Dreadnought. Guilliman with his 2+ would take roughly 5 wounds. For Knights, Leman Russ Tanks, or Predators, they should take about 4 wounds. And a Landraider should take maybe 2 wounds. So while the potential to bulletstorm someone is there, it probably would best be used in a scalpel-like method to erase certain mid-toughness elements. With Interceptors being able to deep strike, then shunt, and then shunt again via the Stratagem. That's 3 turns of strategic placement to drop anything they want as long as you can get 30 models within 12".
  8. I never did see a point cost for him. If he's cheap enough (probably not), we could squeeze him into some detachments to get those precious extra CP's.
  9. Sanctuary coming back is definitely a major help for the survive-ability of our HQ's and a power pieces. Draigo rolling around with his 2+/2++ is always amusing too.
  10. Right now I'm trying to figure a decent all-comers load-out for my Watch Captains. Currently they get a Xeno-phase blade and a grav pistol in order to be able to mix it up with infantry as need be. However, I keep finding my opponents will send huge things in to tie them up or over power them. Just the other knight I had a Wraithlord followed by Wraithknight single him out to keep him away from squishy Eldar infantry. I'm thinking the go-to 15pts of combi-plasma might help dissuade things more as it is a higher volume of higher strength shots.
  11. In the novel Rynn's World, one of the Crimson Fist veterans still has his Deathwatch Pauldron, wearing it instead of the Crux Terminatus.
  12. Kill Team Cassius is the repack from Overkill of DW characters from the board game. At the end of 7th, most of the characters had individual stats and there were several specialized kill teams you could make using some if not all the characters. Alas, that is no more. Right now, you effectively get the following: Chaplain (Bolt Pistol) Librarian (Force Sword, Bolt Pistol) Frag Cannon Terminator (with a hugely expensive upgrade and Heavy Flamer) Biker (Power Sword) 2x Vanguard Vets (Hand Flamer, Lightning claws) Vet w/ Plasma Pistol Vet w/ Combi melta Vet w/ Bolter Vet w/ Bolt Pistol Everyone is nicely detailed, so they are awesome to look at. So its a toss up on value if you need certain types of models vs. load outs since this box is like $5 less than 2x Kill Team Boxes.
  13. Deathwatch are not an Astartes Chapter at all in the Fluff. They are the Chamber Militant of the Ordo Xenos.
  14. I'm planning MSU, but... Part of me wants to make 2 10x Stalker Boltgun squads to just sit backfield and drop Poisoned or AP-2 shots into anything not driving across the field. Also a thought just hitting me, I don't recall seeing anything about being able to shoot out of Rhinos or other vehicles... Going to have to go back and check that.
