I do have it and I am not finding the Company Banner for "all" the anything. What page are you looking at? P. 50-51 has Sgt. Banners of the 3rd Co. 4th Tac and 2nd Co. 9th Dev Squads, Squad Leader Banner of the 3rd Co. Tac. 4th Squad P. 52 has the same 2nd Co. 9th Dev Squads, Squad Leader Banner of the 3rd Co. Tac. 4th Squad P. 53 2nd Co., Chapter Banner, 3rd Co. Chaplain, and Vet. Sgt. 1st Co. p. 54 has Tycho's Captain Banner and two unidentified* Captain Banners (one of which looks like the 2nd Company's Banner), and the 1st and 2nd Squads of the 1st Co. Sgt. Banners. p. 55 Has the Death Company Chaplain banner. p. 56 has Lexicanium, Codicer and Epistolary banners p. 59 has Furioso Number 2's Banner In the illustrations there is another Chaplain Banner but it is not clear to which company he is attached. *In the 1998 edition codex the unidentified banner from page 54 (the one that doesn't look like the 2nd Co. Captain) is attributed to a "Lord" on page 13. This banner appears again as an unidentified Captains Banner on page 14. The "Lord" model with banner appears on the inside cover where you can se a single white blood drop on his shoulder. And finally on the inside back is either a Captain or a Lord up by the Thunderhawk with a banner that does not match any of the others in the Codex. It is black with gold (yellow) trim and has a wing and some gold shape (too small to tell) that has a red blood drop on it.

B is OK and I don't care for A. Obviously we will all paint whatever we like. But I am moving on for now and will see if I can find a bit more info on possible Battle Honors, etc. Then I will tighten up my final for the fourth and then to begin work on the 8th. Later in the year I will see if I can add something for the 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th.

The blood drops green occured to me but the 4th is one green blood drop so I will work on a version that features a single green blood drop. The key issue that I am focusing on is not, what I want, but as if GW commissioned me to make a 4th

I used Adobe Creative Suite 3.0. I drew it in illustrator then exported it into Photoshop and tweaked the ripples by playing with highlighting and shading. If you look closely you will notice there are no actual distortions in the lines just bright and dark to give it the illusion. I was originally thinking of just straight-up using the claw holding the Chalice from the 2nd Banner but the angle needed to get a sword of decent length made me think a hand coming out of the wing would work better. Also the fluff of Sanguinius giving the blade encarmine to Leonatos seemed to be the most fleshed out 4th Company lore. Having a bare hand makes it more evocative of a personal connection to the primarch giving something so precious. I really like the way the story spins out with the loss of the artifact and the quest for redemption. Also how Leonatos ends up recovering the blade but having to hand the honor of returning it to a brother marine while he faces his doom. So from the hand of the Primarch to the hand of Leonatos to the hand of... As promised, some green options. This site on heraldry is where we got the Fesse as fourth. We chose the version of that site as it also shows the bend for the third exactly as the BA third has it. Of course I am in no way an expert so I am not arguing the point. The par fess would work too and that is an easy change. I'll have to do more research. We decided on a sword

The sword for justice held by the hand of Sanguinious. The Chalice Icon in the halo at the top center is a standard BA motif and not specific to the 4th. Someone with more details on the history might make a better suggestion. I used the four blood drop jewels to reinforce the 4th and Nine Battle Honors are place holders

Well, I suppose we shall have to hiope one fortunate son of Baal has the original (or a copy) and access to a scanner. If you compare Tycho's Banner and the 3rd Company it should be easy to extrapolate a fair representation of the fourth company from the captain's banner...if it exists in any form. Cross-fingers.

Captain Leonatos holds a simple red banner with an icon. An ork banner is behind him.
