  1. Just received four sets of squad A from Dark Imperium via ebay, to complement my four sets of squad B which gives four full 10 man squads (or 8 combat squads. This adds to my four full sets of Dark Imperium... Allready have one full battle company or two Demi... Waiting for two 10 man sets of multi part Intercessors and one 10 man set of multi part Hellblasters... On my way to a second battle company or four Demi companies as planned. Next will be interceptors, dreadnoughts, and repulsors.
  2. And the Codex is out... Backflip by GW again while the ink in the Index is still drying... All units... ALL UNITS are now 5-10 per squad (10 with 1 sgt) or 2x combat squads (5 each with 2 sgts) and 3-6 for the other types(6 with 1 sgt) or 2x combat squads 3 each with 2 sgts) ... Still only makes 92 for a battle company
  3. I thought the Intercessor was Tactical, the Inceptor was Assault, and the Hellblaster was Devastator Mik
  4. Maybe the release of the new 8ed SM Codex in July/August will let us know... I read it (from the Rules and Index) that the Primaris squad types are max of 5, 5 and 3 per squad not 5-10 per squad of standard SM... so it would indicate that a 10 squad Company would be 46 Primaris plus Command. So, a Demi Battle Company would be 23 Primaris (5 Squads 15, 5, and 3). Unless the new rule for Primaris Companies is 20 squads... but because of the Inceptors being 3 man, the company would be 96 plus command... still not 100 strong as before. Mik
  5. Hi all, I've been away from these forums for just over 6 years, and for lotsa reasons I still have not progressed much on my previous mega Ultramarine WIP thread... I got them to deactivate its archived status... http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/147766-new-apocalypse-50k-point-army-wip/?hl=lord castellan By all means look, but please do not post there until I have done more and posted myself otherwise it would be thread bumping ... I am using this thread for my Primaris addition to my Ultramarines Mik
  6. Hi all Tester paint job for Primaris Ultramarine attached to 2nd Company I don't want all shiny, straight out of the armoury or shop... used but not abused photos are a little dark C&C please Mik

  8. Hi mate, correct in my last topic being for a mega Ultramarine army. My son came to visit and painted my characters for me. When I'm in Brisbane I still visit MTG store, however I now live in Tara, other side of Toowoomba. Had to leave work force, move house, and ALL my stuff has been packed away for nearly 5 years... so I'm back with Primaris until I can access my stuff after building a new home on a bush block. Mik
  9. I've been reading the discussion re the squad breakup based on the transfers in the box Dark Imperium. It shows squad markings for 3, 6, 9, 11, and 13... what the Codex states (rule book) 10 companies, each of which is made of 10 squads (of 10 warriors), however, as we know from Index Imperium 1 ... a squad of Primaris is either 5 or 3 warriors (for relevant squad). It has never said... 100 warriors, broken down into... so many squads to equal 100 warriors. Up until 8ed, only the 1st Company when fielding only Terminators could split the 10 man squad into two teams of 5... they were described as 10 squads of 10 warriors, or 20 teams of 5 warriors... one version OR the other. So, to say that a Primaris Company is more than 10 squads regardless of how many warriors, is fundamentally different and would have nothing to do with player fluff creations.... unless you have a Battle Force, which is an unlimited mix of squads, demi-companies, and the like, Waiting for the SM or Ultramarine Codex for 8ed to confirm major changes for Primaris... or not. Till then, I am following main Codex... Gulliman has indicated in Dark Imperium novel that 11 Companies is OK, multiple Chapters instead of one is OK, mixing Primaris with standard SM is OK... but no real fluff to base player decisions on, yet. My plan is to reinforce the 4 Ultramarine Battle Companies with Primaris Marines by fielding 4 battle demi-companies of Primaris... and maintaining 4 battle demi-companies of standard marines... Still a total of 4 full strength Battle Companies. Mik

  11. Just been reading another topic in Ultramarines that discusses the squad breakup based on the transfers in the box Dark Imperium. 12. I'm looking at magnetising the flight stands of the Inceptors with a magnet in the mini and a steel ball bearing in the stand tip, so I can pack them into a case safely. Anyone done this before... Mik
  13. Read that too mate, however, in the new rule books... the Codex Battle Company still stands (for now) and the Primaris equivalent to Tactical (Intercessor) is a squad of 5 not 5-10, Devastator (Hellblaster) is a squad of 5 not 5-10, and Assault (Inceptor) is a squad of 3 and not 5-10... therefore a full Primaris Battle Company is squads 1-6 is 30 Primaris, squads 7&8 is 10 Primaris, and squads 9&10 is 6 Primaris... equalling 46 plus 4 command. So, a Primaris Battle Demi-Company is half that... 23 Primaris plus command. Up till now, there are no Terminators in a Codex Battle Company... except for attachments of course. I also believe that the Aggressors will be in squads of 3... looking forward to it. Mik
  14. Hi guys, I love Ultramarines and I really like the new Primaris Space marines. However, this is not a painting WIP, it is an Apocalypse tale, which I also love. I started with one box of Dark Imperium, then two... tally so far 44 Primaris Marines. Then I swapped the two sets of Nurgle in the box for two sets of Primaris... tally so far 88 Primaris. Then I realised that if I obtained 4 more Intercessor squads that would give me what I wanted. Found them on eBay... tally now 108 Primaris Marines. Until advised otherwise (by GW fluff) I now have 4 Primaris Battle Demi-Companies, which when added together give 2 full strength Primaris Battle Companies. My plan is to get the Primaris Aggressors when they come out to form the Primaris Aggressor Demi-Company... should be 5-6 boxes required (with command)... Mik PS photos to follow
