Blood Angels Unit of the Week series Unit of the Week: Chaplain on Bike
Khorneeq replied to Jolemai's topic in + BLOOD ANGELS +
He is quite good character, but units he can attach to are not for him. He gives valuable bonus to wound but outriders have no weapon options to boost and not enough attacks to make their chainswords a weapon to be used en masse. The option to use chaplain solo is not worth it because his cost includes bonuses for his unit.- 11 replies

I've run this model only once for his move after shooting shenanigans paired with Incursors squad. It somewhat worked. First two rounds was Ok but when my enemy found them too irritating he just moved in such a way they had no option to hide. First impression that Lieutnant could increase both survivability (move-shoot-move) and damage output (Lethal Hits) was quickly followed by second thoughts. Two units of Incursors work better. Maybe he has more synergy with other units but haven't tried it yet...

Blood Angels Unit of the Week series Unit of the Week: Techmarine
Khorneeq replied to Jolemai's topic in + BLOOD ANGELS +
I've run techmarine only once lately. He naturally fits best in Ironstorm Detatchment (and was used by me in such way) as enchancement bearer. Placed between Redemptor, Annihilator and Dakka Baal worked really well against monster heavy Tyranids list but it's only single game- 4 replies

From Blood Angels Detatchment rule: Each time na Adeptus Astartes unit from your army is selected to fight, if that unit made a Charge move this turn, until the end of the phase, add 2 to the Strength characteristic and add 1 to the Attacks characteristic of melee weapons equipped by models in that unit. -
His ability to make unit untargettable is really usefull with Incursors because they usually are quite high priority target. Adding some firing and fighting power to the unit is just nice bonus

I'm thinking of running them with Lieutnant for hitting harder (Lethal Hits) and better mobility (charging after fallback). Haven't tried it yet but looks promising and with such a big unit event anciet may be worty addition

What new detachment rules would the blood like to see?
Khorneeq replied to Inquisitor_Lensoven's topic in + BLOOD ANGELS +
Something referring back to 3rd edition rules Scouts with snipers were 0-1 Choice for BA and this limited us as static shooting specialists Wish this kind of rule would be back -
For me Hurricane Bolter is better than Heavy Flamer because at range of Flamer it gets 12 shots (because of Rapid Fire) and can fire even further so can make some chip damage at range over 12" Decision on CCW type should be dependant on targets that You want to throw Ironcald at Sadly Ironclad's special rule don't stack with Chainfists Anti-Vehicle rule (it wounds on unmodified 3+ so no additional bonus against Vehicles) Again only my opinon: I would go for Seismic Hammer as You probably want Dreadnought to deal with tough, multiwound enemies (Vehicles are ideal ) and minimal Damage output for Hammer is the same as for other CC weapons (and it go up to 8 Dmg per attack) with addition of better Strength and AP If You are afraid of getting tarpitted with chaff units Hurricane may help because Dreads can fire even in combat
-
Adept of the Codex is limited for Captain models only, this needs to be changed I like Artificer Armour for librarian as it gives him FnP, which may be useful against Hazardous Smite Ironclad Dreadnought may benefit more from Hurricane Bolters as his CCW don't get Extra Attacks As for the rest it looks good so I hope You will do well at RTT Be sure to bring the Battle Report afterwards
-
No matter which unit will be painted this set of models gives some flexibility so that list can be made with no problems
-
With changes to points cost of BA part of our army SoS may get more bang now (as most of our units are CC orientated and SoS favours CC) GSF gives added mobility for shooting units (Devastator Doctrine) is less susceptible to being trapped in unwanted combats (Tactical Doctrine) and makes charging easier (Assult Doctrine) With Adaptive Strategy Stratagem one unit that needs specific buff can get it regardless of Doctrine active for the rest of army so we are not so reliant for getting charge
-
That looks tough to get up to 2k limit as 10Heavy Intercessors, 3 Inceptors, 4 Dreads (2 standard, 1 Ironclad and 1 Librarian) and 5 Termies with Librarian attached gets You only 1200points
