Noise Marines are a shooty unit, so take the Lord. The apostle and the exlt champ don't buff shooting. If you are trying to make NM's a hth unit, you are not playing to their strengths

It's the unit itself. Here's the important question: Do you hesitate to sacrifice your marines? I wouldn't say that I "don't hesitate" to sacrifice my csm's . The only unit I'll just totally use as a speed bump, is summoned daemons. Csm's can hope out a fairly long time if you don't put them in a really bad position. Do I know that a lot/all of them will die ? Yes. But I don't just throw them away for no reason. Remember, they do have obsec , that alone makes them not chaff.

I agree w Sheesh Mode. I used csm as flankers in rino, or have them use cover as best they can to get to an objective, and set them to action mid-game. But I see he also plays BL, as do I . Maybe the +1 Ld and the BL stratagem makes BL csm more usable then they are in other armies.

I would say a unit of havocs w 4 ML,if you don't know who you are playing against. 4 LC if you know you are playing against some cheese ball who's army consist of 3 knights,or something like that. But really, idk if bastion is the best use of points.

I run them 1 of 3 ways * 5 man - special weapon * 10 man bolters - 2 plaz, champ with plaz pistol * 10 man bp&cs - 2 melts, champ with 2 CS

In my BL army csm are pretty good. Ld 9 and when you use the BL stratagem on them, they reroll ALL failed hits, not just the 1's.

I don't have PM's in my army for fluff reasons . So to represent "PM" I gave them Shields to represent the increased T , etc. Never had a complaint, have had some " that's cool"'s .
